Does anyone else watch LOST?

Major metropolitan cities are holding their breath, hoping that most people will start their DVRs at 6:00pm, but not actually start watching until 6:45 or so. Allowing them to skip commercials and use their bathrooms as nature calls. If not, they are very concerned over the water pressure in their communities due to 60 % of all the crappers being flushed at the same time (During commercials). Can cause big problems.

They don't have anything to worry about, if cities haven't exploded from the SuperBowl parties, then this wont do it either. I'm pretty sure I read that the myth has been debunked and that the sewer systems can handle such a situation.

I'm pretty excited about the ending of lost. I'm a huge fan, and I don't have my expectations as high as a lot of people out there. I've been reading a lot of theories and so on online. I can see so many people being highly disappointed with the finale just because so many people have these huge expectations that I'm sure the writers didn't fulfill.

I must say this is the first and only sunday in my entire life that I couldn't wait for 9pm to come.

Hi RC!! You're almost a stranger these days!! I have to agree with you on this. I, too, have read that they are not going to reveal all. I'm just hoping to come away with a slight understanding of what's going on. I always talk to other people that point things out that I have missed so I'm sure I will be one of those people, scratching my head wondering 'did any of this make sense?'...LOL
I'll be watching the recap show (or whatever it is) from 7 to 9 also!!

Love the avatar, RC!!

Thanks notsoogood my girlfriend took that picture and I loved it so I had to make it my avatar. I have two others that she took that were great to, but I love green so I had to go with this one, haha. I feel like a stranger I hardly ever post here anymore. I do view the forum daily though. I'll be watching the recap show to. I hope that when season six is released they have it available for streaming on NetFlix, so that I can spend a week watching all the episodes and catching things I missed while it was on tv.

that whole other time line was not a time line, it was what jack saw in the final moments of his life. So we must assume that everyone else lived there life's and die of natural causes.

another possibility is that the plane crashed didn't make it to land and they died. And Ben killed Hurley taking over the island which would explain why he didn't go into the church, because he isnt dead yet.

WARNING POSSIBLE SPOILER!!

His father said it was a world that ALL of them made together, though? Or did he mean the alternate reality?

Doesn't explain the dharma group and how did Penny get there? She was never on the island or Oceanic flight. And those 6 who got off on the final flight off the island - where did they go?? And Hurley and Ben obviously spent a lot more time on the island afterward (considering their last words to each other.) and then the other people who died there - the dharma people, the Whidmore people, etc?

It'll be interesting to watch the alternate endings on Jimmy Kimmel later!

Or Ben was on the island before the crash so he is still alive...

After doing some thinking that other time line was there spirits roaming the earth with no knowledge of there death.

Desmond was simply waking them up so they may pass.
If you notice that church scene had status and symbols from every religion and the pained glass windows had the same.

Basically the writers took the spiritual idea of it and manifested it in physical form.

what ever the real meaning is, its still sad to see it end.

Didn't stay up late enough to watch Jimmy Kimmel, but got it DVRd. I admit, I did cry at the ending, it was sad, moreso that the show is ending! I know a lot of people are disappointed in the ending, but I thought it was pretty good.

Also interesting that the writers may have originally intended for the island to be a purgatory like place, but switched it up because too many people were onto them.

I think Ben was waiting outside the church because he wasn't ready to move onto "heaven" yet.

Lots of unanswered questions still, like what the smoke monster actually was, how did his mom know what to chant to transfer island powers, why did the statue have 4 toes, what did the hydrogen bomb do, etc?

To be honest as much as i wanted to know all the random things of this island....i truly did appreciate the character development of this show. After 6 seasons of wanting questions answered we all still watched...what held it together? The characters. Yeah the island was mysterious and we wanted to know about everything....but that's what hooked us and the characters are what made the show. Whether you could share in the love for Locke's spiritualness, hate for Ben's greediness, Hurely's innocence, Desmond's perseverance, or as simple as Bernard and Rose's love. There was a character we all could relate to....and love, hate, root for....While the show left many questions unanswered, emotionally it was fulfilling. If you followed this series from beginning to end, and truely did not enjoy the ride, then here is a question to answer...What made you stay because you knew everything wouldnt be answered...that's what made LOST LOST?

I'm not reading these posts 'cause I'm in Season 5 and don't want any spoilers, but I will say I watched Season 1 when it was on the air and thought..."whatever" - I didn't like it and stopped watching.

Then, years later, when the end was announced and I noticed people still loved the show I figured I'd give it another go. Now I love it, but Season 1 was a total bore - an entire season dedicated to just setting up the real story, the show doesn't turn into the twilight zone that makes up the real plot until after Season 1.

To me it is reminiscent of Stephen King's Gunslinger series - there is just so much going on, so much invested in the story, that it seems there can be no way for the ending to do justice to the rest of the story. The Gunslinger managed a solid wrap up, I'm sure Lost will too.

Well...I'm about as lost as I was before!!! I knew I would be...LOL. I'm thinking they are all dead. My mind doesn't run that deep!!
Spoiler Alert - don't read unless you've watched the finale!

Jack's father told Jack they were dead and were there until they were ready to leave/let go.

The question is WHEN did they die and what is "dead?"

Did they all die on the plane crash or on the island. I'm guessing the plane crash, because Kate was in the church and never died on the island - neither did Hurley, Ben, Rose, Bernard, Penny - yet they were all at the church. Did anyone see Michael or his son?

I think Jack's "death" on the island was him finally letting go. A lot of people who died there died heroically and redeemed themselves somehow. You're already dead when you get to the island, unless you manage to somehow get there while alive - like Ben and the Dharma Initiative.

Yeah - there are still some confusing aspects.

By the way - the "alternate endings" touted on the Jimmy kimmel show were gags. So don't get all excited, lol! (I was - I thought there really were alternate endings that might explain more!)

Oh well, I still love watching Jimmy Kimmel. I love all his LOST spoofs.

I don't think they all died on the plane or the island. I think Jack and maybe Hurley and Ben died on the island, but that the rest who got away - Kate, Claire, Sawyer, Miles, Lapidus - died off the island in whatever fashion they were supposed to die. And once they all died they "waited" for each other in Purgatory. I don't think Purgatory has a real physical "time" that they had to sit there and wait for each other, just that once they were all there together, they could go to heaven, the afterlife, whatever you wanna call it.

I can't figure out why Penny was there. Unless redgirl is right, and I happen to believe this theory the most, I think!

I think Ben and Hurley spent more time on the island...someone earlier said this too. But I think that this sounds the most plausible to me. That would maybe explain why Penny was there. It was years later and she and Desmond had both died? But wasn't Desmond left on the island? I guess a person could drive their self crazy going over all the possibilities!

Christian Shepard pointed out that, "We all die sometime." And that linear time meant nothing 'where' they were. So Sawyer, Kate, Richard etc all left the island and died whenever it was, but came into the SideJump limbo to all meet again before 'moving on' where, again, time has no meaning.

Jack's dad told him some died before him some long after him so don't believe they all died in the plane crash. No Michael wasn't in the church.

I really didn't care for the ending, well the part the alt life was purgatory. I thought they easily could have explained the alt life as the one they should have lead if not for Jacob's interference in thier lives. Once they played their part they was released to live a normal life....hey the show had time travel in it anyways
