Does anyone else watch LOST?

Came across this post from someone from Bad Robot Someone from Bad Robot's take on the Finale | LOST Media Mentions

Here's a quote from the link I posted

"But, from a more "behind the scenes" note: the reason Ben's not in the church, and the reason no one is in the church but for Season 1 people is because they wrote the ending to the show after writing the pilot. And never changed it. The writers always said (and many didn't believe them) that they knew their ending from the very first episode. I applaud them for that. It's pretty fantastic. Originally Ben was supposed to have a 3 episode arc and be done. But he became a big part of the show. They could have easily changed their ending and put him in the church -- but instead they problem solved it. Gave him a BRILLIANT moment with Locke outside the church ... and then that was it. I loved that. For those that wonder -- the original ending started the moment Jack walked into the church and touches the casket to Jack closing his eyes as the other plane flies away. That was always JJ's ending. And they kept it."

I can personally say I loved the ending to lost, it was great. I've also read that Damon and Carlton plan to answer whatever else they can in the season 6 dvd box set.

I certainly have not read this entire thread or seen every season, but I did like the show and the ending.
It seemed to me that from watching the last episode that they all had died on the first episode. And everyone on the island was dead. But that really doesn't make sense. And the plane that took off in the last episode blew up or crashed. I did see plane remnants on the island after the credits. But like I said, I missed a ton of episodes so I am clueless.

Everything that happened on the island was real. They did not die in the plane crash.

Jacks father told him, some died before you, and some died after you. But they created this place (the sideways world) so they could all meet up again. So they could remember and let go, so they could move on.

Kate probably lived to be 80 years old, which is why she told Jack that she had missed him.

Ben and Hurley lived on the island for a while as the protectors, which you could tell from their talk outside the church.

If they all died in the plane crash, then Sawyer falling in love with Juliet would have been some weird, we are dead and falling in love weirdness.

Im still pondering the baby aaron in the church thing.

I am a little disappointed that more of the island mythology wasnt explained, but the characters stories and ending were perfect.

Also Whitmores wife and Ben werent ready to leave the lifes they were getting a second chance at with their kids, so I dont believe they were ready to move on yet.

To be honest as much as i wanted to know all the random things of this island....i truly did appreciate the character development of this show. After 6 seasons of wanting questions answered we all still watched...what held it together? The characters. Yeah the island was mysterious and we wanted to know about everything....but that's what hooked us and the characters are what made the show. Whether you could share in the love for Locke's spiritualness, hate for Ben's greediness, Hurely's innocence, Desmond's perseverance, or as simple as Bernard and Rose's love. There was a character we all could relate to....and love, hate, root for....While the show left many questions unanswered, emotionally it was fulfilling. If you followed this series from beginning to end, and truely did not enjoy the ride, then here is a question to answer...What made you stay because you knew everything wouldnt be answered...that's what made LOST LOST?

You are so right the show was about the characters not the mysterious of the island. The characters where all flawed but at the end it was them overcoming their flaws that defeated the man in black and turned the light back. They over came their flaws by often with help of some one that had an opposite flaw.Just one example from at the end Hurley over came his aversion of being responsible..being the man..with the help of Ben who's flaw was he would do anything to be the man. Ben let go of his need because Hurley asked him to be his helper.

Rhetoric Camel, if that's what the writers said this just makes me mad dammit :) The writer's have continuously shut down the purgatory idea - of course, they were right only in the sense that it wasn't the Island that was the purgatory but still. People had been guessing the purgatory idea since Season 1.

I get how you could be mad that they shut down that idea when asked. But would you really want to hear "Yeah it's purgatory" before the 6th season even starts? I'm glad they lied about it, nothing like spoiling the end of your own show when it's supposed to be mysterious and keep you guessing.
