It's also marketed as a 'quit smoking' device, as opposed to, wow this stuff smells and tastes great! I can't remember which site but, it said, if you are not a smoker, we strongly advise against vaping. They didn't qualify their statement by saying, zero nicotine is ok :( Why? What is it we don't know or don't talk about? Are my lips going to fall off??

The only caution I would give is that there is no concrete evidence that vaping is 100% safe, even at 0% nic. It is indeed safer than smoking, so smokers transitioning to vaping are making a wise choice. Anyone that has quit smoking for the time you have or has never smoked should realize that they are taking part in an activity that may not be 100% safe. As an adult, you are free to make that choice and it seems you have done your research by browsing ECF. If it makes you happy then go for it.

We dont know a lot as of yet. I look at it as harm reduction - of the choice of smoking or vaping - vaping, at least seems and feels, less harmful. It may be totally safe, it may not. Its a great unknown until more long term research is done.

But - I am pretty confident your lips will remain intact :)

Yes, there are a lot of them. It is becoming the "in" thing to do nowadays. It will be that way with anything. I mean look at it like this, why did so many of us start smoking without parents that smoked? Neither of my Parents smoked but 3 out of 4 of my Grandparents did. I was not subjected to smoking like a lot of smokers were and I started as quick as I could. Why? To be cool of course. I thought it made me look tough. Instead it made me look like an ....... My sister in law found a very nice mech in her son'd room and he claimed it was a buddy of his but I'd bet a dollar to a donut it was his. He has never smoked a cigarette or anything else in his life.

There will always be people who pick up a nicotine habit. I knew cigarettes were bad for me when I started smoking, yet I became a smoker anyway. I look at it this way. Non smokers who start vaping are likely to be the same people who would have started smoking for whatever reason. While we may not know if vaping is 100% safe, I think we can safely assume that they're safer then cigarettes. It's still better to vape. It's sad that those non smokers who started vaping are being used as ammo by the ANTZ in their anti nicotine crusade.

I've never smoked, and I wouldn't have - smoking is gross, with a heel of a lot if risks. Vaping tastes great, smells great, and the risks are far, far lower.

I mean it is possible to vape with zero nicotine for enjoyment, right? I am new but, I have read many, many threads and don't think I've run across a post from someone who never smoked or, in my case, I quit 25 years ago. I'm starting to wonder if vaping is not 'safe' it's just used as a transition to quit real cigs?

I haven't smoked in almost 14 years. For the most part I vape 0mg and I know a few others who do too. :)

Im a non smoker and i vape. The only thing i ever smoked was 1 black and mild when i was in college. Always was against smoking and wished i could help people quit. Then i found out about vaping from a family member who wanted to try an ecig and i just fell in love. Ive been doing it for a year now using 0 nic of course. I just love the tinkering and all the unique flavors and the clouds.

I have a friend who never smoked but she vapes a little now and then. Her husband had been a smoker for a long time, and after he saw that vaping was working for me, he tried it. When he did, she got a setup and was vaping 0 nic. I haven't seen them for a month or so, and the last time I did see them, he was using her PV because he had lost his. I don't know if she got another one or just gave him hers and stopped vaping.

I was a nonsmoker before I started vaping because I have mild asthma and couldn't handle the smoke from analogs. The only reason why I never smoked analogs was the actual smoke, not lack of desire. My husband picked up smoking after joining the military and when I got him to try vaping, I started it too to support him. While I was initially going with zero nic, I did eventually go to 12mg since using my husbands liquids (usually around 18mg) helped with some of my mental health symptoms. I have now gone down to 6mg because a med I recently started interacts with it at the higher level (the 6mg is doing fine so far though). Like others have said, it's getting to be that e-cigs are being used relatively less by those trying to quit analogs and more by those who would've started on analogs but there's also the people like me who couldn't handle the smoke from analogs but can handle vaping. Am I truly hooked on the nicotine? No, I can go entire days without vaping, or even thinking about vaping, but I do find that I feel better mentally on the days that I vape than on the days that I don't.

I was a little to no smoker. Mostly, I did it in my Army days as a way to get out of the office when I needed a few minutes to cool my head (I was a hot-headed know-it-all, still am, just not in the Army). I used to smoke cigars pretty regularly (couple times a week). To me, vaping is a hobby that I can do anywhere. I used to love going to bars and smoking a cigar while I drank, but NC banned that. This is a tasty alternative.
