I was smoking half a pack a day of Newports, which have a lot of nicotine. I started vaping at 18mg and almost immediately dropped to 12mg. I vaped at that level for about 2 months and for the last 3 months I've been vaping 6mg with the exception of ACB which I love at 12mg. I find my head "swims" less when I have less nicotine and I can vape on an empty stomach a lot easier at that level, too. Also, since the throat hit is less I can take bigger puffs and get a ton of flavor. I don't know if I'll every go lower or to 0mg but I'm real happy at 6mg.

I've been vaping exclusively since April 1st. I am finally ready for a nic drop (getting a nic high when I vape) but since I have 2 years of juice stocked up I'll have to thin it out to drop my nic. I have no plans to quit eventually quit vaping or to go 0, but if 0 happens it happens. I have too much invested between juice and mods to quit :D

I got into vaping *hoping* I could drop nic but not about to stress myself out about doing so. Started at 12, couldn't put the PV down. Went up to 18, still chain vaped a lot but could put it down and walk away whenever I needed to (including going to the store etc without needing to bring it with me). After about 6 months, I dropped back down to 12 comfortably. Then I got a rebuildable dripper and dropped to 6 within a week. I still vape the same way - chain vape for 20-30 minutes, then set it down for a while - so over time, and with more efficient equipment, I have successfully dropped my nic. I still keep 18 and 12 around for emergencies, and for when I'm in situations where chain vaping isn't an option.

After 50 some years of smoking (thank you Uncle Sam, you made it real easy and cheap) I switch to e-cigs 7 or 8 months ago. Started out an 18mg, quickly followed by 12 mgs a month or so latter. Now I'm switching back and forth between 12 and 6 mg, but all future NT juices will probably be 6's. I do chain vape though....probably should start using some junk juice:).

Started at 16mg and now I'm at 1mg. There's pretty much no point in putting nicotine in my juice anymore so I will likely drop it soon. Switching to dripping on an RDA really helped me cut nicotine levels. Really had no problems at all through this entire taper. The best part about cutting nicotine levels? The flavor of e-juice with ever smaller presences of nicotine.

I started at 18 and kept some 24 on hand for when my cravings got bad. I have been vaping almost a year and the only reason that I have just recently gone down to 12 was the fact that I bought a REO. I could have still vaped the 18 (I did it for a few days) but everyone told me that I would need to go down so I bought some 12. When I tried the 12 I really couldn't tell much of a difference so I just switched.

Just over a year and a half of vaping I have gone from 18mg down to 6mg. Some of this is because I wanted to, and some because I mostly use Kayfuns and drippers which just hit harder (therefore less nic is needed).

But everyone is different, and there are not definitive rules about how much nic one wants/needs. Whatever feels right to you is what you should be doing.

No, not everyone, at least not in a big way. I smoked for 36 years, 2 PAD for the last decade or so. I started at 18 mg last December with some occasional toots of 24 for cravings. After a few weeks, I thought I'd try dropping to 12 and started getting cravings again. So I mixed the 12 50/50 with 18 getting me 15 and that's where I've been ever since. In the meanwhile, I've gone from clearos to Kayfuns to bottom-feeders and keep wondering: What is this "nic buzz" of which people speak?

I started at 18 and now vape 6. No plans at this time to go any lower, but I have vaped some 0 nic samples and didn't have any negative effects. I don't think I'll have any trouble going completely to 0 nic should the FDA get tricky.

Same, and I had to drop fast because I chain vape and it was getting ugly.

PAD smoker for 35 years. Started vaping March 6 but wasn't completely off the cigs til May 5. I'm using 18mg and sometimes I still have cravings. So I'm pretty sure I'm not ready.

Roxy I'd find some 24 just for those cravings...something, anything would be better than smokes!
