After 50 some years of smoking (thank you Uncle Sam, you made it real easy and cheap) I switch to e-cigs 7 or 8 months ago. Started out an 18mg, quickly followed by 12 mgs a month or so latter. Now I'm switching back and forth between 12 and 6 mg, but all future NT juices will probably be 6's. I do chain vape though....probably should start using some junk juice:).
I'm pretty much the same for the years smoking cigarettes ( was at 35 per day in the last two years).
I started on the small e-cigs with pre filled cartridges. Had my last cigarette almost 6 months ago, and gradually but steadily went down from 24 to 18 to 12 to 1 and .8, then .6 a couple of months ago. All easy.
Currently using some .3 and .4 and a little zero too now and then ..but still have the .6 too. I don't think too hard about which strength I'm actually using and haven't noticed much difference so far. I do think getting totally down from .6 to all .3 or below may be the hardest part ..not sure.
I do get the urge for a good strong hit of nicotine now and then, but do have something to deal with that too! :)

I started @ 18 and stayed there for 4 months mostly because 7 weeks of that was spent in Singapore where e-cigs are illegal and I was not sure how often I would be able to vape. I put all my liquid in 100 ml unmarked containers and my pen style devices in parts in my computer backpack. I didn't have any problems with customs or vaping while there. After getting home I started using rebuildables and mechs and went down to 12 after discovering NT. Now I'm only ordering only 6, but still have a bunch of 12 and 18 incase. Thing is the 18 is from another vendor and buying 0 to cut it down probably ain't gonna happen as I love Clarks wonder juices too much. I'm working on a friend at work who smokes and will pif it to him if he decides to try vaping.

I got into vaping *hoping* I could drop nic but not about to stress myself out about doing so. Started at 12, couldn't put the PV down. Went up to 18, still chain vaped a lot but could put it down and walk away whenever I needed to (including going to the store etc without needing to bring it with me). After about 6 months, I dropped back down to 12 comfortably. Then I got a rebuildable dripper and dropped to 6 within a week. I still vape the same way - chain vape for 20-30 minutes, then set it down for a while - so over time, and with more efficient equipment, I have successfully dropped my nic. I still keep 18 and 12 around for emergencies, and for when I'm in situations where chain vaping isn't an option.

Long time no see Seanchai! Good to see you friend!~

I bought one bottle of 24mg and got about 20ml through it... 2 days later some 18mg showed up... made it about through about 60ml at 18mg... stayed at 12 while I was still on the clearos (6 weeks?)... dropped to 6 about the same time I started dripping and haven't really had the desire to vape anything higher since (although I do in the name of testing devices, I really don't enjoy 18mg... 12mg is tolerable - I actually like some flavors better in 12mg). I still vape 12mg when I am mixing (we don't vape in the lab where we mix) - but if I can vape without being concerned about when or if I pick it up, I could do as little as 3mg... 6mg still feels right though, I can go 45mins-1hour without getting too twitchy.

When I first started vaping about a year and a half ago, I started w/ 12mg of nic but felt it was too light so I went w/ 18mg. Vaped that for about 1 month or so then moved down to 12 and after 4-5 months of vaping 12mg, I moved to 6 then gradually moved to 0mg of nic and still vaping at 0mg to this day. When I first moved to 0mg, I did notice that I did chain vape more than usual, but that gradually stopped. I can go at times not vaping the whole day or maybe when I get home. Before, I would vape at work, but now, I either leave it in my car and vape when I come to work and when I go home or just leave the vape at home altogether and just vape when I get home. But now that I finally tried RBF and Strawnilla, I'm actually bringing my vapes to work and not leaving it in my car. That's how good Clark's juices are.

I haven't had a cig since May 5 :). So I've managed to deal with the cravings. I am not going to let myself after coming this far.

I did order 4 NT juices tonight, and got all 18 again. I guess I'll revisit this again for my next order.

That's the most important part...Congrats!

I started at 24mg in September and am currently at 6mg....most of the drop was by accident though.
Second buy at a smoke shop where you grabbed your own bottles, I was so distracted by all the flavors I didn't look at nic and came home with 12 and 18s.
It worked, so I stuck with 12 and bought a few 18s for emergencies.
After a few months I started buying 6s to vape at night, b/c I was vaping more at night and getting too much nic.
Some of the flavors I only had in 6 started coming out with me during the day, and once I did that the 12s just seemed like to much.
Since April I've only bought 6, and even mixing my left over 12s to 9mg, I can really feel it after just a couple drags. So, I've given all the 12 away and only vape 6mg currently.

Not sure if I'm interested in going lower or not...time will tell. :vapor:

When I started, I was at 36mg. Dropped to 24 a few months later. After a year, I stepped down to 18, then went to 12mg a few months after that. Along with dropping the nic level, I now find myself slowing down my vaping, which is cool, since at some point I know I'll want to stop. I have no idea when that'll be; I just have a feeling that my body will let me know. I do know that I haven't felt this good in a long time.

We went with our son and his wife to a restaurant half an hour from where we live for lunch last May (anniversary) - I popped an eSmart in my bag and a disposable e-cig in my pocket. We were in the restaurant almost two hours and I didn't bother using mine all that time ...crossed my mind briefly though.
I didn't actually use mine until we were back home! So, around 3 hours in all! I was pleasantly surprised ..made up for it though once able to just please myself!

Now then, if you were to ask me or tell me I couldn't use it for 3 hours, I have a feeling the rebel in me may protest loudly!

I also started at 24, worked down to 12 and plan to make all my future purchases at 6 mg. Was really hoping to make it to 6 before the school year starts, but I don't think it will happen. I still have so much 12 left! The beginning of the school year is always hard because I have to go 9+ hours without vaping. I feel for my students, I will be one stressed teacher for the first week, but it's OK because we teachers know not to smile till after Xmas! my goal is to get to 6 and eventually to NZ!

I started at 24mg over 4 years ago and didn't start lowering the nic for couple of years. I dropped to 18mg and months later to 12mg and went to 8mg for a while. I didn't like the local B&M juices, so I went back to online suppliers and had to order 12mg and 0 and mix them. A while back they didn't have 0mg in stock, so I went to 11mg for a while.

Now that I've started vaping a Kayfun my ears buzz sometimes. It atomizes juice much more efficiently. I just ordered 100ml of 6mg juice! Maybe the nic ring will leave my ears now. :)

I'd like to get to the point where I could vape some level of nic and still pass a Cotinine test for health insurance. That's a $200/Year savings.
