Does it bother you when people expect you to do all the legwork?

the problem is theres so much contradicting information online. and of corse the vaping world is evolving at a shocking rate! its very confusing trying to get into it at first so i like to help as much as possible. however i tell people to go get one THEN i will set it up for them. i send people for ego/ce4 kits to get started as they are cheap easy and they work. then i show them how deep the rabbit hole goes 
In my last example YES. Always.
In my first examples, it depends. Are they just new, or are they just lazy? And what is my mood when they ask?
Post count may give an indication of which. But not always.
I usually answer their question, and sometimes add a little hint like "I googled this" or "it took me 10 seconds to find".
Sometimes I just sigh and answer.
I really try not to force my opinion or my judgements on anyone. Some days I fail.

That's not the point, tho. Being a noob and knowing literally nothing about vaping is perfectly fine. Like me, some people ask "stupid questions" to confirm that they have finally eureka'd something, or to narrow down what keeps them from going eureka. I'm perfectly fine with that. Not a lot of people on these boards mind answering the same questions over and over again. Using mind games and guilt trips to avoid drinking the water you've been led to... is entirely a different story.Roughly (and quite arrogantly), one can split new e-cig users into two kinds. The ones that wants to try e-cigs. And the kind that really wants to quit smoking. At the current state of vaping technology, unfortunately only one of those will stick with it.(Sorry if many of my posts come off as more arrogant and smart-assy than intended)
God forbid we actually ask the students to think for themselves.... Common Core? Teachers I know would rather teach and teach kids to learn rather than regurgitate info...

i'm ok with giving some good, basic information but yeah, it does come to a point where google is far more beneficial to ask.
I think at this point I'd prefer if people asked me to do the legwork, although I'd tire of it quickly if I were actually in that situation.
Right now I have to deal with smokers who tell me I look funny. Or they feel the need to inform me that I'm killing myself when they see me vaping. The legwork I do is different because I have to correct them when they try to inform me of false information (i don't believe in educating people so I never do that - if they wanted to be educated they'd take the initiative to learn).

There's really no excuse to get annoyed with answering questions on a forum, since you could simply...not...answer...the...question.
Especially a place like this one, where there are scores of people lined up in short order that are happy to do it.

My only current vaping protege (my dentist's assistant) is just across the border in Mexico, where there are no vaping B&Ms yet (that I'm aware of), so no immediate source for juice ...
Her boss and I set her up with an eRoll starter kit for Christmas, after the hand-me-down eGo that I gave her finally died ...
So until she can find a local source for juices in Tijuana (she already ran out once and resorted to analogs), I am the supplier, I guess ...
Fortunately, we like exactly the same menthol juices, which I disguise in airline travel-size shampoo bottles. Mexican Customs still randomly "confiscates" things that look unusual or interesting, and shampoo bottles are beneath notice ...

i just tell them what i know and refer the rest to ECF, tasteyourjuice, google, etc. theyre on their own for ordering w t h lol
Some folks are teachers, some are not .. if helping a person rid themselves of a bad and unhealthy habit gets boring and repetitive, then certainly, rid yourself of the hassle ..
While some people are learners, some are not. If there is one skill I would love to posess, it would be to help people realize they CAN learn anything, and that being a noob is only the first step towards figuring something out.

I find folks to all be learners .. if they are interested in the subject and it is presented in a way they can understand .. the realization that they can do it comes from both sources ..

the wife does that to me all the time.
she wants the cars fixed, the computers fixed, planted fish tanks, a bullet proof vaping experience with no work involved, the money to do it all, etc., etc..
then gets peeved and throws me under the bus around everyone... "he's always on that damn computer having fun, playing on craigslist...".
smh drives me nuts.
I wanted to be a teacher, but they said I couldn't use a cattle prod......
I'm better just talking about something I like, vaping, football, cars, computers, poker, etc....
I love teaching people about my hobby! I realize that many don't have the passion that I do. I watch tons of videos and do extensive research to be on top of all the current gear, even though I have no desire to actually buy most of it. My vape friend who lives in another town loves that I have all the knowledge and am willing to teach her.
I would probably get to a point where I was irritated if I was inundated with people calling and coming over all the time but that isn't the case. Most aren't as passionate as I am.
edit.. but I do have to say.. that vape friend, I recommended and even loaned her one of my kayfun lites. She can't get it to work. Since we can't seem to get together (I work days and she has to be there for the boyfriend in the evenings and weekends) I've linked her to several good tutorial videos.. but so far she hasn't watched them. She wants to get together for lunch on days that I'm off but I can't show her how to clean it and rewick/recoil it sitting at applebees! So it's sitting there, unused while she complains that her cartos in tanks don't work well anymore.
At some point.. she's got to take some inituitive and do a bit of learning on her own if she can't get away and come over here to watch how to do it! or else give me back my kayfun and keep buying using carto tanks and quit whining about them. (sorry for the rant)

But what I don't like is when people expect me to give them things. I've started several people out with kits/juice. Two in particular I remember - complete starter kits, several extra heads, and 90mL juice each (flavors they'd already tried and liked). But now they're at the point of needing more juice/heads and they've been dropping hints ('do you have any extra heads', 'do you have any more of that <insert flavor> juice', etc.). Now I know they don't have much money so if they offered to pay, I'd just give it to them...but they don't even offer. That's the part that bugs me.
