Umm,, I found that when I started out I spent heaps- now that Im thinking back, a lot of the money was spent on trying out juices, buying gear that turned out to be dud or that I didnt like... learning the ropes generally.
18months in, whats differnt is that I DIY juice, I have gear that I like and use slowly stockpiling - I know what i like and use and confine myself to what suits me and what I need so there is less wasted money trying out stuff that might be dud.
It took a good few months and money wasted to get to this stage though, process that you will go through.
now I just have to order replacements for flavours, attys, occasional batterys-thats it really.!
a few times a year I will spend what it used to cost me per week for cigarettes,

It has taken me months, but I think I am ready to slow the spending. Instead of buying stuff last week, I became a ecf supporter, so that is a good sign. I found a juice vendor I love, and that alone will save me a ton of money since everytime I ordered juices to try I would throw something else in the cart!

I bought a couple different pv's to test the juices i was buying, and a ton of cartos and such. Now that i have my juice situation figured out, i know what combination works for me. Not saying nothing else is on the horizon (I really want a Reo Grand), but i can stop watching the sales so much and save instead of impulse buy. Good luck fighting the sickness!

I mean the spending lol. In the month and a half I've been vaping I've already spent a couple hundrted dollars trying out this other device, trying out that other flavor, it's getting to be an expensive hobby lol, so does the wanting to buy more and more ever wear off where you get to a point you know you have what you want, or do I just need to learn some self control lol

 Sure it wears off! You just have to have some self control and disci... oooh, pretty, sorry, I was saying, that you don't have to buy EVERYTHING you see... ohhh, lookie at that, grabby hands Never mind. I am a terrible role model.

I've spent about $300, however I would have spent over $400 on analogs so I'm ahead of the game. Luckily I was refunded $90 of the $120 I spent on my first purchase, which was the blu kit. I returned it after a week and bought the volt. I know I will stay with them for a long time because I use the 78mm batteries at work and the x2 at home. I work outside, so I can't use larger batteries like the x2 or mods or vv machines because I want the smoking experience. 1 1/2 volt batteries gets me through the entire day of work then I can go home to my x2. Since the x2 is the same as a kgo, I have no need to go elsewhere. Especially since I have no interest in mods or variable volt setups. Since I don't know anyone else who vapes, I'll never try those, so I will never know what I'm missing.

I own about 12 volt batteries,of which I only use 1 or 2 when I go out, a 900 x2 and a 1300x2. So I should be good on big hardware for a while. I have about 20 blank cartos and 10 clearos, so again, should be good for a while. Since I've been using the same 5 cartomizers for a month now, and they still vape well, I should have enough cartomizers to last at least 2 months. My spending comes with the juice now.

I have over 450ml of juice and I vape 3-4ml a day but I keep ordering more. I see a good deal and have to have it. Especially when it's a deal like a free 15ml bottle with purchase. Plus, I'm so afraid of running out, so when I'm halfway through a bottle, I feel I need to order more. Luckily, out of the 27 flavors I have bought, there's only 2 I don't like and 1 that I would only vape if I had nothing else. Since all 3 came for the same vendor and 1 was free, I figure thats not bad. All of the other juices are in my regular rotation and I have at least 15-20 ml of each one.

I'm just always worried I will run out of something. Now that I have all that, I budget myself to $15 a week, which is still excessive since I really could go 3-6 months. But I figure,I was spending $60-$70 a week on analogs. The only other thing I want to buy is a 3rd x2 battery during the july 4th sale (don't ask why, I don't need it) and an atomizer for drip testing new juice.

Edit: by the way, all of that stuff was only around $300 because of awesome sales, coupons and giveaways from various companies. I have gotten at least 100ml for free from companies

Gone AWOL
I've found that in 6 months I've spent a few hundred more than I would have on analogs. Over the next six months the savings should build. I've gone through 3 pairs of batteries and numerous juices that will never get vaped. After all this experimentation I've found gear and juices that I like so minimal wasted spending from here on. I can get enough Boge LR's and juice to last me a month for half the price or less of what I used to spent on analogs.

That's exactly what happens! Then, you'll read rave reviews about something else and have to try it, love it, and order more. Lather, rinse, repeat.

I know how the OP feels. I have never even tried vaping yet but in the last 2 days I have spent over $400 but if it helps me quit smoking analogs it will be definitely worth it. My stuff will start arriving tomorrow, hoping to have it all and vaping next week.

It will.

The trick is to figure out what nicotine level you need. Once you have that figured then just find a flavour or flavours and all will be good. But replace the nic....it is over forget about it.

Today was the first day in a month, I didn't get something in the mail, it felt weird.

I wrote a really, really long blog about just that lol

Don't worry it get's easier not having new toys every couple of days. I went nearly 8 weeks once without buying a new mod. Still bought a fair bit of juice though.

Actually I don't think I have bought any carto's in 3 months.

You know that isn't bad at all but shows just how much I over spent at start lol

Depends, once you get some good equipment that satisfies you, it should stop the constant search (once you have a VV...well, in my opinion you don't really need anymore PVs). You shouldn't be spending a ton on hardware anymore. And it does take some people time and money before they find their go to base equipment. We're not all so lucky to find exactly what we need, right off the bat.

But once you get there, unless you're the type that can never be satisfied, your spending will drop off significantly. You'll still have to buy juice and heating element gear of your choice. That won't cost nearly as much. I spent a couple hundred looking for equipment. That all stopped when I bought my Chrome Lava Tube. I'm happy with it, I'm not going to spend much more on vapes I think. I might pick up another mega 510 manual penstyle if the one I have ever dies, as it's my main back up (I also have a few small, auto 510s and a small 510 passthrough I literally only use these days to dry burn). But I won't be buying anymore expensive kits.

To put it in perspective, what do I have to buy in a month, to continue vaping? Heating element devices obviously. I use clearos, and drip. I might need a pack of clearos every month or two. New attys, about the same time frame, maybe a bit less. So to look at the finances of that. A pack of clearos, is about, oh $10, depending on where you buy them. Before I figured out a way to replace the plastic tubing, I could get a month, maybe two out of them, since I have figured this out, Idk clearos I bought 3 months ago are still going strong. But I digress....figuring in a pack per month, that's $10. Attys. Attys are like light bulbs, they can pop at any time. I like to have at least two on hand. Figuring in needing two new ones every month, they're about $8 a pop. So I'm up to $26 a month. And let's consider drip tips too, because let's face it, not only are they good for dripping, they make fantastic clearo mouth pieces. Maybe $2 a piece depending on where you buy from. Let's just figure in 2 drip tips a month because they're easy to lose, so I'm at an even $30 now.

Juice. I buy most of my juice from ECblends, because it's really good, and really cheap. 4 fl oz runs about $35 (4 fl oz is 125 ml, that's a hell of a lot of juice). I go through maybe 60ml a month, perhaps just a bit more. So I'll call it around $25 a month in juice....because I don't always order in 4 fl oz bulk (which does come with a discount), and sometimes I buy my juice in such bulk that it'll last a couple months so I'll pay a lot more one month, and then maybe nothing at all the following, so that's a ruff average there. Okay, so now all things considered, oh say about $55 a month, give or take. And that isn't every month, sometimes I spend twice that in one month, and nothing at all the next, like I said. It all depends on how well stocked I feel like being at any particular moment.

Give it time, find your right equipment, learn to be satisfied with the good equipment you have, when you have it. You'll taper off to something completely reasonable. Also consider the price it cost you to smoke cigarettes. We'll assume $5.50 a pack of cigarettes (in some parts of the country/world, that would be considered extremely generous). A pack a day smoker will go through about 30 packs in a month. That's $165 a month buying by the pack, a bit cheaper if you buy by the carton. Of course, that's in states with the cheapest cigarettes. In some states/countries, it can be as much as $10 a pack.

Like I said I'm pretty close to breaking even with whaty I would have spent on analogs, but it seems to hurt more shelling out a big chunk at a time than to nickle and dime it away buying a pack at a time, I don't mind spending the money sdo much I enjoy it, I just expectyed to buy one starter kit and some juice when I started and then spend no more till i needed cartos or juice lol didnt expect to find myself drooling over every new model I find and every new juice i see XD

I put $10 in a jar every day that I don't smoke analogs and use that money

I guess I have spent 5-7 times what I would have spent on analogs in this time. Not much in the way of hardware. A lot of carts, lots of juice samples and lastly a gallon each of pg and vg and a couple of flavors a couple of syringes and a few bottles to get me started on DIY. I am hoping the spending slows and ceases soon!
