Does nicotine content affect flavor?

I have been making my own juices for a few months at around 18mg of nicotine. I made one for a friend the other day at 24mg and noticed it seemed to have a lot more punch to it and the flavor seemed a little harsher than what I am used to. I used the same percentage of flavoring and pg/vg mix. I was just wondering if I should make adjustments with flavoring with higher or lower nicotine levels or is it that I'm just not used to the stronger throat hit from the 24mg.

Just pure Nic has a taste to it though it is unflavored, take a few drops of 24mg and put it on your tongue and tell me what you taste, you will taste Nic ! it definitely effects the flavor of juice in my opinion. If you vape say a 18mg-24mg Juice compared to a 0MG your gonna taste a bit more flavor in the juice with 0Nic in my opinion !

Even the Purest, Highest Quality Nicotine base has a taste. Some call it Biter or Peppery. Taste is subjective so I won't get into what it tastes like. But higher mg e-Liquids have a different taste.

Where I have seen a bigger taste difference is when I got a hold of some questionable quality Nicotine Base. It was Biter and Harsh with a hint of Chemicals. It tasted kinda like what a whiff Gasoline sells like. Needless to say I chucked it in the trash and went back to my normal supplier.

I tried tasting the nic juice , and he is exactly correct . It definitely has a flavor , If you can call it that . kinda nasty . Please disregard , my earlier post . I bow to the masters .

I haven't tried the nic by itself to see if it really had no flavor. I was making a fruity green apple flavor and at 18mg it tastes sweet like a jolly rancher but at 24 it was too harsh for my tastes. Maybe I should try getting the nic concentrate from another supplier just to compare. But I also don't know if for someone that is used to 12mg or lower would try the 18 and say it was too harsh for them. It was a 50/50 mix of pg and vg. Maybe if I increased the vg it would smooth it out some? I'm still learning with the DIY so I appreciate the feedback.

Haven't tried using any sweeteners yet but that might help. I will wait and see what the feedback is from the friend I made it for. I'm happy with it at 18mg. 24mg will make my head hurt after awhile. I just wanted to know from others that make their own if they adjust the flavor percentage or do anything different when making it stronger or weaker with nicotine. I like quality control and if I sample flavors out with 18mg and someone likes it but requests it with more or less nic I want to keep it consistent with the original.

That's exactly my experience.
