Does this sound like a good start for a chain smoker?

I smoked 30 cigs a day - lights - I started with 18mg and 12mg, vaping nic does not absorb as fast as smoking, device also plays a big part in how much nic you actually get delivered into your system - small cigalikes are the least efficient (and should be avoided - best results are with the better batteries and tanks), if you are chain smoking/vaping get several (3-4) 900 to 1300 mah vv ego style batteries (twist or spinner) along with a good tank (protank or aspire) with multiple extra replacement heads (1.8 - 2.0 ohm)

good luck and welcome to the ECF

That would work IF you had high quality gear and using an rba, but if starting out like most with an ego or cig-a-like and a changeable coil atomizer or carto, you may want to have 18 & 24 mg nic to start with too.

The better the gear and builds, the better the nic delivery and Vape. When I started, needed 24 mg nic to satisfy, now that I am into re-buildable atomizer tank systems, and high watt vaping, I've had to drop down to 12 mg nic, still getting the same nic satisfaction as when using 24 mg nic, just my gear and coil builds are sooo much better now than when I first started my vape journey.

With all things vape, one needs to be able to go with the flow, and change it up as needed.

Good luck, welcome to the forum.

Vape long and Prosper!!!

Even after smoking full flavor menthols I could not stand anything over 14 or 15 percent (had to mix 24mg with 0mg and experiment). 12 was and still is too low, but add some higher nic juice to the tank and its perfect. 24mg always felt like I was inhaling chew spit (throat burn that is), 18 was almost as bad, but better. Finding a happy medium is key, mix juices if you have to.

I started with a ce4 and it was ok, now i use a protank and rebuild coils with great success. I went from ego batteries, to twist batteries to a vamo. Its all about trying new things. Some work, some dont. Just dont give up.

That is a pretty light arsenal for getting off smokes, imo. I'd recommend ordering some 18mg at the start, and maybe some lighter liquid too so you can experiment ... that's just based on personal experience, but I wasn't a heavy smoker and needed the 18 for the first month or so.

And... try to avoid "emergencies" if you can. Vaping (to me, anyway) just doesn't provide the quick fix... when your really want/need a nicotine rush, a cigarette can satisfy in a couple of long, deep drags. For me, that's hard to accomplish with vaping; so, good to avoid letting yourself get into that situation if you can avoid it.

Welcome to the forum, and good luck!

You might want to keep some 24mg on hand at first. You can always cut it with a weaker mix if you find you don't need it that strength.

I was 30 a day light 100's for well over 30 years. I spent almost a month at 24 and 18. Switched to 18 and 12 when I noticed I wasn't using the 24 much. A couple of months of that and then stuck with 12. I've recently started getting some 6mg here and there but I'm not yet completely comfortable with it.

Better to have it on hand and mix down, than to light up because your juice isn't strong enough.

I chain smoked hand rolled pipe tobacco. About a book of papers a day, no filters, 32 leaves. I started with 18mgs in clearomisers, that gets me through the day.

If I really Need a Nic hit I have a dripper at .8-1 ohm. Just a couple of pulls off that gets me back in Nic Nirvana.

Now I dont notice a difference between 18 and 12mg liquid out of my RDSs or tanks. I still need that big hit occasionally.

I was a 40 year 3 pad chain smoker. I needed 24mg (or at least 18mg) when I started, but I had to cut back after 2-3 months to lower levels.

I would recommend you get some 24mg and some 0mg of the same flavor. That would allow you to mix it to whatever level you find works for you. Or get some VG at Walmart to cut things down.

I smoked a pack or pack and 1/2 per day for 30 years. I was able to quit 100% by using 70pg / 30vg at 12 mg Nic.
Using only a iTaste MVP v2.0 and a iTaste vv ver 3.0 with Kanger Mini Protank 3 and Kanger AeroTank around 8.0 - 9.0 watts.
but Vaped all day. Worked for me. I would also change it up a bit and do the odd tank with 18mg nicotine.
Using "Ry4 Double" juice from Canada E-juice. (amazing all day vape)
I've never been able to quit smoking ever!!! I've tried nicotine patches, gum and doc scrips. Nothing worked....
Vaping has been a God Send, for the first time in my life I was able to quit the ....ty Coffin Nails "Cigarettes"
IT'S AMAZING!!!!! , I feel great, I really hope everyone who smokes tries Vaping and quits smoking.

due to the unfortunate lack of good paying jobs in my area I had to move back to my parents house as rent was to much, and I had to quit smoking "cold turkey" because of cigarette smell, I had a vision spinner and cranked the voltage up and used 24mg juice for about a month and got through it, the first week was tough, but haven't had a cigarette since :)

Thats great that you were able to quit smoking. Good going!! It's tough but Vaping makes it easier thats for sure and then never look back.

I was a pack every two day smoker for about 20 years. I probably started to low at 6mg but looking back Im glad i did. On the one hand, I was pretty commited as Id spent $120 at Lucky Vape for an Itaste SVD. Looking bk, I dont know why I bought a mod right off, especially paying so much for it, but Im glad now that I did. Since the nic level was so low I found myself chain vaping pretty quick. Which led to a search for a tank that could keep up. Iclear 30, rotank, finally the holy grail, an RBA Russian 91%. What it did that I didnt realize was give me a new hobby. I now have a habit and a hobby which has left in a place I can never leave. I tried a few smokes since I started. Never made it past 3 or 4 puffs. Just plain nasty and made absolutely no sense. How in hell I could ever go bk to killing myself over something that smells absolutely nasty, tastes just plain gross, and makes me want to puke around the 4th hit, I cant imagine. Im now nicotine free with the exception of 5 or 6 hits in the morning of a 6mg with my coffee for a morning boost.

I am completely satisfied with the aromas, the wonderful and sometimes exotic tastes, and the visual satisfaction watching the vapors swirl around me. It aint sex but I tell you, its the next best damned thing. Nic or not I dont ever see myself quitting vaping. I simply love it. They can ban the hell outta everything from mods to juices but until they ban fog machines and vg, I will be vaping. It satisfies hunger pangs, it is aroma and visual therapy, and it provides me with a range of flavors throughout the day kings of old would envy.

Vaping Rocks.
