Yes, it's vital to have sufficient backup gear. Without it, there's a risk that you'll go back to cigs due to equipment failure. Just keep in mind that those costs, for good gear, will average out over time. The trick is to get only what you need for that, and resist getting the next best thing (today, something nexter and bester tomorrow....) just because it's new and shiny and full of promise.
With your 2 Isticks, you can check Ω of a build on both. If they agree, then you could postpone the DMM. (Although I like to check my builds at the terminals before putting on a device, and check again then if it's so equipped, and you need a DMM for the first.)
Blunt ceramic tweezers... very handy if you're doing compressed coils, but not absolutely necessary....
