Ok i finally got to do a test on the Rhodium over Gold on brass contacts -
Battery Effest 18350 V 4.16
Atomizer 1.1ohms kayfun lite (micro coil)
Under load 3.72v
0.44v drop
So i got 0.50 on the stock contacts (which are brass)
This means there is an improvement of 0.06 which is pretty good considering we are talking about plating here. Now i am no expert and i am using a quite low ohm atomizer (which apparently according to research is less accurate to work with). I used a 1.1 ohm as a lot of people including myself tend to use a kayfun and they are not recommended for sub ohm vaping. So i wanted to get a 'real world' test on it. I am sure others out there may get different results but honestly there are lots of variables to consider - at the end of the day the plated contacts were an improvement and according to experience Rhodium also requires less maintenance (cleaning).
If the interest is there I will do other tests using a dripper atomizer (Origin Dripper) at higher and lower ohms. I know David has some other testers out there as well probably working on different setups and plating options - Would love to try some copper contacts on this one.
Now im sure David is doing all this testing and plating for a reason so i think at some stage there will be new contacts available for everyone, whether they be Rhodium, Silver, Gold, Copper or a mix of the above. This makes me wonder what he will decide on for the Dripper and the Air Flow control hybrid connection. Time will tell.
