Done with top coil clearos

Haven't tried any RBA/RDA's yet (YET!), but here is my preference:
1. Single Coil Cartos (I prefer Boges)
2. Protank/Evod
3. Carto tanks
4. DD Atty's
4. Vivi Novas
......
999. Any "stardust" style top coil clearo. It must be my style of vaping, but no matter what the brand, or what modifications I do, they always taste like garbage after half a tank or so, no matter how many dry burns or alcohol douches I apply.

That pretty much mirrors my consensus regarding clearomizers of any kind, top or bottom coil. I can't be bothered with them. The wicks mute the flavor too much for me, giving it an off taste. Also, hits are inconsistent. I hate burnt hits. Once I switched to carto tanks, I never, ever looked back. I keep a few iClear 16's around to test out flavors, and I keep two iClear 30's as back-ups, and I occasionally hit my Protank, but as a daily go-to delivery device? Nope. Clearos are inherently flawed, in my opinion.

Im thinking abuot carto tanks now. I hate the PT2 it gives off a terrible wick flavor quite frequently. The Aro isnt much better either and the base always gets stuck on my evic. The T3s by SI were great for a while but, i think they changed something because, all I can taste is a milky plastic like undertone of wick. I'm running out of options from what I can see.

Yes it's different strokes for different folks but, if you fully get to know your equipment inside out, understand how and why it works the way it does, you can do little modifications to make the vape better when you have issues.
I pretty much exclusively use 510 attys in a bottom feeder these days, but I can get a great consistent vape from all of my top or bottom coil clearos.

I used my vivi nova for about a month, and I still fill it up and vape it every now and then. Once I figured out why I would get a dry hit, or it would gurgle, or not make contact with my battery, or not wick correctly, or leak (yeah, I can see why some people say they suck!) I could fix it and get a great vape.

Not saying any of us should have to mess with something straight out of the box, but such is vaping. It's fiddly. If you are prepared to fiddle, you'll unlock some really good systems for getting a great vape.
