So today my wife chewed my ... down one side then the other. After she left for work I had the strong desire to do some building. Wanted to do a diamond coil or nano dragon. Relieves stress for me to build, I'm sure you all can relate. I don't know if it was from lack of sleep or being frazzled but i couldn't build anything to save my life. This was wierd cause I've never had much problem building before. I started out three years ago building on some really difficult decks using nichrome wire, and having since switched to kanthal it has just been so good, but i digress. So, after my spool of kanthal unraveled all over the place i should have just gone to sleep but I'm stubborn and a little boneheaded, so settled on a nice nano build. Building on my M16 i set my coils on the deck and prepared to trap the leads when all of the sudden I smelled burnt hair and before i knew it i seared a perfect 28 ga valley in the tip of my thumb. All you builders of course know that i didnt have my mech's switch locked and obviously it fired while i was installing. I've heard of this before but never happened to me until this wonderful day after a horrid valentines day night. Maybe I got what i deserved, maybe it was just my time to sear a 28 ga hole in my thumb. In any event, I finally got her built and she vaped really well except for my delicious strawberry chill diy tasted exactly like burnt flesh. I pulled the wick dry burned the coil, re-wicked it and still the disgusting odor and taste of my cooked thumb lol. Strawberry menthol and burnt thumb just do not taste good. No wonder nobody is out there selling Crispy ThumbBerry Chill. I sincerely apologize for the rant. P.S.A., please make sure if you are going to build on your device,(do not recommend) , that you lock your mech's firing button. Thank you for listening. I love you all.

I always take the battery out when I build a new coil, even though my Cronus clone has a very good locking system.

I treat switch locks the same way as I do with the safety switch of a firearm -- though unlikely, the safety can fail, so I don't completely rely on it. Before cleaning or dry firing a gun, the ammunition gets removed. Before mounting a coil on my mod, the battery gets removed.

Sometimes my dog will fart and then turn around all shocked looking at his .... like who's there? This in no way relates but maybe it will help cheer you up.

Safety first, pimpin. That being said I will always be doubly conscious of where my lock is thread when I'm building from now on. Thanks man and sorry for your troubles.

when building a new coil, I just take my RDA off my mod to avoid branding
It's much easier to mount and wick the coil when the RDA is attached and you actually have something to grab onto.
Like using a (where the f♠ck is the ohm symbol on my keyboard!) resistance checking box.
