Sudden burnt taste with SAME exact build!

I have been vaping on a black EHPRO Kayfun Lite Plus for a couple weeks. I have been building a 7 wrap, 28 gauge Kanthal, 1.3 ohm microcoil with moderately full cotton wick that just rests on the deck, but does not block the juice channels. Tonight, I went in to re-wick and when I was done I got a burned taste. This is the same build I have been using for two weeks with great results, and the same juice. So I ripped everything out and did another build. Same burned taste. Then I tried a 1.9 ohm coil with the same burnt taste. Is it possible that a piece of cotton has gotten hung up inside my RTA? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
