Man I feel bad, I've reccomended the Cool Fire 4 to so many people.

Anyway recently my subtank nano .5 ohm coil at 30W experience has began to suck. Less vapour, less taste - must be the coils right?

Only had the CF4 4 months.

Thought it had to be my coil, but the lady in the shop put my subtank nano on her Joytech EVC at 30W and damn it fired / ramped up quicker than on my fully charged CF4 and the vape was thicker and a more white colour and tasted better.

Apparently as the CF4 battery only gets charged via a pass-through, it never gets as fully charged as a rechargeable battery charged through the mains directly. Her hubby said this and he is an electrician so...

Also when this battery dies so does the £40 mod it is encased in, rendered unusable.

Moral of the story, if you're going VV/VW/TC mod box - get one where the batteries are not built in.....

They're okay for starting out sure, but why waste the money on a unit with a short shelf life and increasingly decreasing battery performance...

Your post won't make any difference whatsoever in people buying mods with built in batteries , they are extremely popular , two of my friends have Coolfires and love them to death , still going strong after 8 months .

You did realize that mods with built in batteries can die anywhere from a few months to a little over a year right ?

The disposable factor is what they like about them and why they buy them .

I'm getting the CUBOID 150W for £10 more than a CF4 next.

I'm a cheap s.o.b though and don't buy a new anything until the last one is kaput! So I am going to be pushing the CF4 up to 35-40W, putting holes in the cotton of the subtank nano heads with a pin and getting as much as I can out of it until it doesn't vape good any more.

Yeah then the CUBOID for sure, played with one today in the shop, bit big but very nice machine at a nice price and can put anything from an evod to sub tank to an RDA on it.

I wondered why the guy at the store wanted me to buy a sub box instead of the CF4. I was like, nah I want the one made of metal, not the one made of plastic... Shoulda got the one made of plastic after all....

I don't think the problem with your mod is the battery, I think the real problem is it's simply inaccurate on the wattage reading. For example, I've got a 30 watt mod at home that I know delivers 3-4W less than what the display says.

Another possibility is that your 510 connector may be dirty. That dirt will reduce electrical conductivity, reducing the power it provides to your atomizer. Try twisting a dry paper towel into a thick plug shape, stick it inside the 510 connector, and twist it around a few times. If it comes out covered with black stuff you need to clean your 510 connector. Also clean off the threading on your tank because it will surely be just as dirty.

Cleaned the tank, threads, 501 connector threads etc and brand new coil which I had primed by vaping a tank through it last night (with great dismay at the poor clouds and flavour compared to a couple months ago). It just is not ramping up as fast as it used to, and nowhere near as fast as it did on the lady's joytech doo dad or the sub box's they have them on in another store.

It is deffo my battery.

She reckons just go from 30W to 35W for same performance 30W used to give until it dies... Then buy a Cuboid, methinks, they look and feel decent and now can go up to 200W if I wanted....

Hey ho, we live, we learn

I will drive this CF4 into the ground first though.

Okay vaping it at 33W-35W has improved performance. Still cannot get any flavour though and I've steeped the juice a week ago.... Meh, maybe it's vape tongue.... In the shop I had a toot on the manager's 80VG20PG 'Heisenberg' in a kanger nebox, clapton coil 30W. The taste was amazing

Maybe it's just this liquid, Clutch Vapor 'Hat Trick.' In the store it was delicious, custardy raspberry in the same set up I am vaping it on now, could taste both the creme brule and the fruit. All I'm getting last two days is a really mild raspberry taste and sod all else.... When I first started vaping the 30ml bottle it was amazing - half way through - nada.....

I guess this is just how it goes vaping same juice all day for a week? Need to rotate every couple days I guess, more reason for me to get a 2nd tank really I suppose...

Vape Tongue...?

I wouldn't buy one for myself, but can see why people do.
My tootle puffing friend dropped her subvod into the ocean last week. I fished out the rig, but the battery/mod is ruined. I cleaned out the saltwater from the nano tank though and put in a new atty for her and will get her an iStick 30w or something this week to go with that nano tank.
I think these mods serve a purpose, and they're inexpensive and disposable.

edit:
That Coofire 4 though looks about the size of a removable battery mod (like an iPV D2 70w, for example), but costs more. That's pretty screwy, imo.

That doesn't make any sense. If the battery was getting worn out, it wouldn't last as long between charges, yes, but the the mod should still hit just as hard for however long it does last. 30w is 30w, it doesn't matter if it's 30w from a fresh battery or 30w from an old one.

Yea, but a shop owner said it and he is an electrician.

No, the shop owner's husband was an electrician! :pervy:

Either way, I wouldn't own a mod that I couldn't replace the battery just because once the battery is shot, the whole unit is kaput. It's a lot cheaper to replace a couple of 18650's than a whole mod.

Is your Battery Crashing quickly? If not............it is NOT the battery, it is the circuitry.
If the battery is droping of much faster than normal the cells are worn out and it is done.
Low current charging is NOT a problem and in fact a (SLOW) charge is better for Battery life.

* A more skilled owner could even replace the Battery - if in fact it was exhausted.

I have a IPV-mini2 that suddenly started hitting much harder than it should. I can guarantee the battery did not get stronger.;) The mod has started reading coils higher than their actual build and applying to much voltage at wattage setting.:glare:
Understanding this, I vape at a lower setting for correct power provision.

I had this problem with meh flavor a few months back! For me it was my Subtank Mini that wasn't doing it for me anymore! The prebuilt coils had never really performed well for me to begin with but the RBA was what I thought at the time really rockin'! Then it started to go off slowly as time went on so I had to find something better & I did! I up graded to a Mutation MT on an IPV4s! Then I wanted something with good prebuilt coils so I bought The TFV4 & the octo-clapton coils (during this I also bought a RX200) which are just insane for flavor! I still use both tanks today depending what mood I'm in or if I'm feeling too lazy to rebuild the MT! Although the STM is a great tank (which I still use on occasion) the flavor just wasn't there for me! IMHO your solution might be upgrading your whole rig if you can afford it or maybe getting away from the stock coils & getting an RBA section for your Nano if it will work & you're interested in building your own coils! Really easy thing to do & there are lots of You Tube videos to show you how! You could also try a Clapton coil for your Nano Kanger Clapton Coil . Always shop around for the best price though this link is just an example! Hope this info "HELPS" you make a decision what on what to do next!

EDIT: The possibilities are endless & for me that's what I love about vaping!
