I've been using bottom fed RDA's for close to three years now exclusively (squonkers). It's the real deal RDA experience with no dripping. There is a bottle inside the mod that you press on through a window. The juice travels up to the RDA deck, saturates the wicks and coils, and the excess is sucked back down into the bottle. No leaks, no dry hits, real RDA vape, with 10ml of juice to last you all damn day. No dripping.

Say what???

While somebody already mentioned a Reo Grand mech, which I also highly recommend, we are starting to see some nicely priced regulated squonking mods hit the market the last few months.

I received one of these a few weeks ago, and I really don't have a problem recommending it to someone interested in trying bottom fed mods out:

Promotion! Steam Crave Squonk MOD Bundle Sale(Only for USA and Canada),Steam Crave Squonker

It's a cheap, complete package that includes the regulated squonk mod and an "okay" RDA, and I am pretty impressed with the mod's quality and construction.

The electronics leave a bit to be desired compared to what we are now seeing in regulated mods in comparison; as in 60 watts may not be quite enough for cloud chasers, and it only does TC with nickel. However, regarding the TC, squonkers just don't need that feature. In my opinion, TC is to prevent dry hits in TANKS, because tanks inherently have wicking problems that will give you a dry hit. No such thing as a dry hit in a squonker, as you are in complete control of the juice.

Also, rebuilding could not be any easier these days. I also recently purchased a coil master kit, and boy do new vapers have it easy. This kit absolutely makes building perfect coils easier than tying your shoelaces:

Coil Master Tool Kit V2 DIY Kit for Atomizer Rebuilding Vape Mod DIY 6-in-1 Coil Jig Tool Kit Coil Jig V2+ohm Meter +Diagonal Pliers +Scissors +Screwdriver +Ceramic/elbow Tweezer +Kanthel Wire +Case - - Amazon.com

The kit even comes with a small spool of wire and some organic cotton.

Literally everything you need to start rocking an RDA as a convenient, leak free, hassle free, all day vape is obtainable in these two links I've left here for pretty cheap if you ask me. Far, far, far superior to any tank setup out there.

Cheers

The only time I use TC is with RDA's which tend to hold less than a tank. I have never experienced a dry hit using a RTA so no need for wick protection.

Granted I can tell when a wick is drying out after six years of vaping so TC is really just a novelty to me.

If you want RDA-like performance without all the hassle of dripping, I'd suggest looking as some of the newer RTA tanks on the market, specifically the Griffin or Diablo. Since buying my Griffins, my dripping has all but ceased. Look at these builds...

These are coils normally confined to drippers, but no more. This new generation of RTAs perform amazingly and hold hours worth of juice.
