Okay, that sounds like a good place for me to start then and I'll trust your experience that a cloned RDA will be as good as an original. I would ask though, why would a cloned RDA be as good as an original...? I know from experience with a certain Chinese company that cloned tanks are not good....

Where would one buy a clone Derringer in the UK? Don't want to order from fastech, too slow and had bad quality cloned evods and ego-c coils from them before, really substandard....

I'm back to dripping again after about 9 months of using only tanks.
You simply cannot top the vape that you get from an RDA.
And while I wanted less hassle and so went to tanks, they turned out to be more of a hassle, actually. RDA's are so much easier to rewick and go.
Leaks WAY less than my TFV4 tank too (you really should never lay any tank or RDA on it's side)

This RDA is about 1/2 the size and weight of the TFV4 tank I was using too.

No plans to go back to tanks. I'll be dripping again for a while.

Someone said above that you'd need to re-wick anything after 2 days. That is false. I've been on these wicks for 10 days and still going strong. Do not vape dark juices (the clearer the better) and your wicks will live long and prosper. Coils last me a couple of months, easily.

Yeah those two hits today were AMAZING vaping... Okay I'll jump in and get a cloned Derringer and try building, I'll search around on the net for the clone...

In my experience you can lay a Kanger Subtank Nano on it's side, upside down, drop it on the floor, carry it round in a jeans pocket while cycling for 6 miles a day - never, ever leaked on me once in 5 months....

Will I really get a good vape on an RDA with VG heavy juice on my CF4 that only goes up to 40W though...? If I can, I'll give it s shot, would be nice to have a few good toots like I tried today once or twice in an evening, I cannot lie... Subtank for day, RDA for night....

1. How can an authentic RDA like the derringer possibly be better than a clone? Seriously, I have a ton of gear.
Both authentic and clones. Usually the clones are better made due to better tooling and manufacturing equipment than some small shop can afford.
Times have changed. Most RDA clones are very well made.

2. Fasttech doesn't make anything. They sell stuff. From tons of manufacturers. You must read the reviews, AND the discussions on each items page, before buying to know which are good and which are not.
Those guys live for clones and don't hold back when they review them.
Chinese New Year is over, so shipping will go faster. Be sure your order is over $20 if you choose free shipping or it will take forever.
I get gear from China to California much faster than I can get a package from the UK.

My subtanks never leaked either (loved that about them), but the subtank falls well short of an RDA vape. The TFV4 tank I mentioned (that I was using before going back to the RDA) comes closer to an RDA type vape than any other tank I've tried. But while it vapes strong it does leak MERCILESSLY regardless. Far far less mess with my RDA (yes, mindful of course to always keep any RDA upright, and vaping off any access before putting in pocket).

Try a Bellus.
Fantastic RTA.
Much better performance than a TFV4 or TFV mini, and not leaky.
I have all three of them.

Honestly it's so much less hassle cleaning and rewicking an RDA than any RTA that I'm not interested in going back to the RTA's any time soon. Maybe the next gen RTA's will improve overall, and I'll keep the Bellus in mind if/when I do go back to RTA's.
Thanks Ninja

This is great information, especially the bit about reading the reviews and discussions on FT, most all of the serious posters on FT discussions will not hold back in any way in detailing why something is bad or good.

I've purchased well over 50 cloned RDA's from FT and I always ALWAYS read the reviews and discussions of a product before I buy it, I won't purchase newly listed items until there is a discussion and review on them in most cases. Even with over 50 RDA's coming to me at very worst two of those RDA's could have potentially been returned for manufacturing errors but it both times it was something simple like an extra/spare screw missing or a hole drilled slightly off-center in one of the posts, nothing that really affected the overall use.

At the time it was released when the Hobo 2.1 came out I was contemplating buying an authentic for around $90, quickly I came to my senses and instead I purchased TEN clones from FT for $65, gave a few away to friends and still have six for whatever I feel like, all for less than the price of one authentic. You can purchase multiples of nearly every clone available and not come close to the price of the authentic counterpart.

You won't use that much more nice than a sub tank.
However you need to stop and educate yourself on ohmsaw and how an RDA works.
It's extremely simple stuff, but also extremely important.

Use the regulated device.

Based on your questions you aren't ready for a mechanical mod just yet.

Not everyone reduces nic, but remember:
RDAs are far more efficient delivery systems than most tanks
So be prepared.
I can Councour. I generally go through double the ammount of juice on my duel clapton in a velocity then I do on my duel 24g micros in my bellus.

I've been using bottom fed RDA's for close to three years now exclusively (squonkers). It's the real deal RDA experience with no dripping. There is a bottle inside the mod that you press on through a window. The juice travels up to the RDA deck, saturates the wicks and coils, and the excess is sucked back down into the bottle. No leaks, no dry hits, real RDA vape, with 10ml of juice to last you all damn day. No dripping.

Say what???

While somebody already mentioned a Reo Grand mech, which I also highly recommend, we are starting to see some nicely priced regulated squonking mods hit the market the last few months.

I received one of these a few weeks ago, and I really don't have a problem recommending it to someone interested in trying bottom fed mods out:

Promotion! Steam Crave Squonk MOD Bundle Sale(Only for USA and Canada),Steam Crave Squonker

It's a cheap, complete package that includes the regulated squonk mod and an "okay" RDA, and I am pretty impressed with the mod's quality and construction.

The electronics leave a bit to be desired compared to what we are now seeing in regulated mods in comparison; as in 60 watts may not be quite enough for cloud chasers, and it only does TC with nickel. However, regarding the TC, squonkers just don't need that feature. In my opinion, TC is to prevent dry hits in TANKS, because tanks inherently have wicking problems that will give you a dry hit. No such thing as a dry hit in a squonker, as you are in complete control of the juice.

Also, rebuilding could not be any easier these days. I also recently purchased a coil master kit, and boy do new vapers have it easy. This kit absolutely makes building perfect coils easier than tying your shoelaces:

Coil Master Tool Kit V2 DIY Kit for Atomizer Rebuilding Vape Mod DIY 6-in-1 Coil Jig Tool Kit Coil Jig V2+ohm Meter +Diagonal Pliers +Scissors +Screwdriver +Ceramic/elbow Tweezer +Kanthel Wire +Case - - Amazon.com

The kit even comes with a small spool of wire and some organic cotton.

Literally everything you need to start rocking an RDA as a convenient, leak free, hassle free, all day vape is obtainable in these two links I've left here for pretty cheap if you ask me. Far, far, far superior to any tank setup out there.

Cheers
