The idea in concept sounds good, but the numbers don't really look promising. Let's say you sold kits at $60 that you paid $40 to procure. That's a $20 profit. Let's assume that you bought juice at $10 for 20ml and carried an assortment to sell at $20 a bottle. You sell the customer an average 3 bottles of juice with his kit and leave a business card in case he wants to buy more.
Just for kicks, let's say you work for around minimum wage just to see how much it takes to support that figure. Let's use $10 hr for a round number. 40 hours per week x 240 working days per year. You might want to take off a couple of weeks a year. 240 days x $80 = $19,200. That's not much money...
A person clearing $20 per kit would have to sell 4 kits a day to make $80 per day ($10 hr). Actually, you would have to sell more than that to meet expenses for gasoline and other expenses associated with bringing the product to the customer's door.
The 3 bottles of juice at $10 profit each brings you another $30 per kit. You made $80 from the kit sales and $120 from the 3 bottles of juice that each customer bought. Already it looks like this is a consumable oriented business! It's just like inkjet printers. They create an endless market for ink.
So your first day you sold 4 kits and 12 bottles of juice. That's 4 x $20 plus 12 x $10 (profit). You went home with $200 for your first day. $200 x 240 days=$48,000
Now we are looking at a better situation. If you sell USB passthroughs, car chargers, and other incidental items, you look even better. Of course, you'll need to buy a business license for each town you visit and pay for your gas, oil, and repairs, etc.
After you beat the bushes for a while and accumulate some profit, you might find that it is easier to open a web site and do what all the other suppliers are doing! Then, you can sit at home and watch the orders come in. Then there's that issue of inventory. Customer want you to have it in stock and ready to ship ... NOW! If your delivery time is not in line, your customers will find someone else to do business with.
You might be able to work with a larger supplier to shift orders and make commission from him or her. You get an online order, forward the info to YOUR supplier who does the shipping and pays you a commission. You touch nothing, have no inventory, and still get a check! Sweet!
