Yeah it is pretty sad the Media makes everything look worse then what it actually is, especially when it comes to e-cigs. But it is nice that diacetyl is not being used no more in butter flavors from reputable companies, and companies are now testing for it.

Helps keep my mind at ease, knowing that some companies test and double test their liquids before selling.

Well, here in Canada as long as you stick to ecta approved ejuice there's not need to worry..

I repeat myself from thread to thread about this:

The whole diacetyl thing... if that would be a problem, you'd be dead already if you ever smoked cigarettes.

Cigarettes has THOUSANDS of times more diacetyl and every other chemical that the witch hunt is using to scare people with. But you don't hear that in the news, do you? Ever heard of a single smoker getting popcorn lungs?

Every thread about "diacetyl" is people with the same fears that the lies and propaganda has proven to have worked on them.

These is nothing, not one thing so far, after over 10 years, that has been showed, reported, etc. to be any sort of recognized and proven health issue with vaping.

Not one... nope, not a single person admitted to the hospital, treated, found to have any ailment from anything that has to do with vaping.

The only bad press vaping gets, has only been the stupid people that did not respect lithium batteries and the OHM laws (shorting out their batteries, causing them to vent/explode) or just plain extreme bad luck, as per cell phones/tablets/laptops exploding on people just the same.

What's in vaping liquid, unless you're getting it in an alley in the back of a truck, there should never be more than 4 things... PG, VG, flavouring, nicotine, the last two being optional, all of them tested and used for decades and proven to have absolutely no ill effect, unless the person has a sensitivity (allergy) to it... and even then, it's just a bit of an irritation, yet to hear anything more than a discomfort or such.

It amazes me that while smoking no one gave a second thought to what's in cigarettes knowing it's bad for us, then switching to vaping and focus on ONE additive that may be bad. :2c:

It's the witch hunt / propaganda, this really proves that it works.

One additive has been the focus, one chemical that is thousands of times more present in cigarettes, and yet, not one popcorn lung with smokers. It's really sad.

If diacetyl was that bad, every smoker would have died from popcorn lung within a couple of years.... and here we are, not a single case with smokers, but pumped to 11 with vaping and everyone and their sheep gulped the kool-aid.

As far as I know, most reputable vendors will say somewhere on their website that they are diacetyl free. Also, from what I read, only butter flavors have been known to have diacetyl.

not entirely true and you cannot take a vendor simply at their word unfortunately. Even though a flavoring supplier claims no diacetyl, testing has proved otherwise. The only way to TRULY know, is if the vendor is lot testing their juice.

So if theres no diacetyl means no popcorn lung right?

correct, but like mentioned, the chances of actually getting popcorn lung are zero. the only cases were people working in the factory inhaling the powder...

It amazes me that while smoking no one gave a second thought to what's in cigarettes knowing it's bad for us, then switching to vaping and focus on ONE additive that may be bad. :2c:

well, i dont agree entirely with this either. Most started vaping in order to quit cigarettes. so, some people wnat to make sure that the juices they are vaping are clean in a sense. switching from one bad thing to a less bad thing isnt what everyone are looking to do.

It's the witch hunt, nothing more and people don't know better... that's all.

There's diacetyl in microwave popcorn, not one person has ever caught "popcorn lungs" because of
eating it.. it was in the manufacturing plants where people were exposed to MILLIONS of times more than anyone else would ever be, and it was mostly the heavy smokers that were affected.
