I've been vaping a few months, and after some trial and error, find I actually prefer my Torque 56 and Protank Mini 3 to analogs. But there's one big problem left: If I drink a beer or two, it suddenly tastes completely different, and just awful! So I end up buying a pack of smokes.

A friend says it doesn't happen to him at all. Does anyone else get this?

The only problem I have with vaping and drinking is when I have to drip more juice... the more I drink, the amount of over dripping or dripping down the side and on my hand increases. Even if I use a tank of some kind I somehow find a way to spill it or mess something up...

oh well.. :toast:

I will say that fruity flavors go well with hard liquor.

What's the problem?
Alcohol tends to deaden our sense of taste. So normal liquids taste blah. That is the way it goes :)

What to do?
Get a nice, strong-tasting tobacco liquid (e.g. small-cigar taste, like Cuban Supreme, or cigar taste, like Tuscan Reserve, both by Flavor Art).
Get a sweet-tasting liquid that goes well with tobacco flavor, like Vanilla, Caramel etc.
- - Take care that both liquids have enough nicotine. Remember chain-smoking when drinking, in your smoking days?
Mix liquids in tank of atomizer, to get a nice, not too strong-tasting sweet-small-cigar flavor. Enjoy yummy flavor.
Take both liquids with you.
As the evening (and the beer drinking) progresses, add more and more tobacco liquid and less and less sweet-tasting liquid to your tank.
You may even want to vape the strong-tasting tobacco liquid straight, as the evening progresses.
- - That will be very tasty and very fulfilling when you spend a nice evening drinking with friends.

But be careful: The rest in the tank the next morning will take your socks off :D

I see that you are from Germany :)
In that case get Cuban Supreme, Tuscan Reserve and the Vanilla / Caramel / Torrone (very nice!) liquids from Freaky Ally. (No, I do not get paid by them, but those liquids are what I use when having a few drinks)

Advice from Germany for a German person (brands, German words for small cigar and cigar):
Cuban Supreme = Zigarillo
Tuscan Reserve = Zigarre
mixed with Caramel / Vanilla / Torrone: Cuban Supreme = Moods Sweet, Tuscan Reserve = Dannemann Sweet Zigarillos

I concur with Anjaffm. In my case, it was mint flavor with red wine - errrr.... not so much. But try a sweet-ish tobacco flavor, I thought it was nice, with wine anyway. I don't drink very much beer, but it seems as though some pairings could happen. Start with tobacco mixes, and then maybe think about some more savory mixes. Definitely stay away from the mint.

It's not that the flavor gets muted or deadened, it changes into something really different and kind of disgusting. My Torque 56, which is just delicious to me normally, becomes something I just don't want in my mouth! And it's not just after I take a drink, it stays that way the rest of the night. Also happens with Freedom juice and other tobacco flavors.

Oddly, something similar happens to the taste if I'm vaping outside in cold weather.

I'm getting the feeling it doesn't happen with most people. My friend, also vaping Torque 56 and drinking the same typical german beer (something like a Budweiser only it tastes good) says he doesn't notice anything different. So I was just curious if anyone else got the same thing.

Generally I don't like the non-tobacco or sweet flavors, the only one I've found that's ok is a coffee flavor. It seems to still taste ok with alcohol, but doesn't really go with a beer... Anjaffm, I haven't had much luck with Flavour Art liquids. I see that Freaky Ally has Brathänchen (roasted chicken), maybe that one will do the trick!

Anjaffm is right on, a good cigar flavor goes very well with a beer or whiskey. It's what I always preferred to smoke while drinking, and vaping the same flavor is perfect....:toast:

Oh yes *dreamy sigh*
I used to love those sweet flavored small cigars - so yummy with a nice cup of espresso after a nice meal, or with a beer or red wine.
And I can get exactly that lovely flavor in my PV - yummy :)

@Nada Nix:
Did you get the Flavor Art liquids from Freaky Ally?
As a matter of fact, Flavor Art liquids made by Flavor Art themselves taste like ... uhm.. fresh air. For some reason, Flavor Art does not put enough of their own flavors into their own liquids. Duh.... heck, I mean, they MAKE the flavors.. then why be stingy with them? It's not as if they have to buy them, ey...

/edit:
Freaky Ally uses more Flavor Art flavoring in their liquids. So they taste nice and strong and not like fresh air /

Sorry, I do not know Torque56.
For nice tobacco liquids, you may wish to try Surmount.de. GREAT stuff. "Alter Tobi" is a great, not sweet, tobacco liquid. "Rustical" is like pipe tobacco with vanilla. Very pleasant.
