Hey all! I've been vaping for about 7 months. A few months ago I switched from cigalikes and got an evod vv setup. After coming to this place I am very confused on the difference between all of the types of tips, batteries, coils, ohms, etc...

Anyway, I would like to know what the difference between what I have and a drip tip. I am thinking about getting a mini protank III. It says it has a drip tip. I've read that "dripping" is better, but don't understand what it is. It says it uses double coils, which I assume is better. Can someone please explain this to me?

Ok.

So, a drip tip is JUST the part of an atomizer/tank/cartomizer/whatever that you put into your mouth. Some can be changed, others are built into the atomizers/tanks/cartos.

Dripping, however, has not really anything to do with a drip tip. What people are referring to when they talk about dripping is using a dripping atomizer, usually rebuildable, called an RDA for short. These RDA's don't hold very much e-liquid at all, so you must refill them more often. Many drippers run special coil/mod setups which allow for maximum vapor production.

Take a look at this thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/533272-quick-question-what-dripping.html

it has some decent information in it.

The mouthpiece part that attaches to the top of the tank is a drip tip:

I think what you mean is the sort of atomizer that allows you to simply drip a couple drops and vape:

There are also toppers called rebuildable dripping atomizers (RDAs) that allow you to build a coil/wick and then, after assembling, you can drip into the atomizer.

All of these devices still require a drip tip, that is, the mouthpiece that attaches after you have dripped your juice into the atomizer.

Word of caution with the 510 dripping atomizer from discount vapers...if you use more than 3-4 drops they will leak badly. Also..if you don't vape the liquid quickly..they will leak into your battery. They aren't really good for all day vaping. Better used for tasting like v1K1ng1001 said. If you want to get into dripping a lot, go with an RDA and learn how to do your own coils. Personally I have not ventured into all that.

A really long, inches long, one might make the vapor a little cooler. Some also have different inside diameters. If you use a RDA to blow huge clouds you probably have a wide open one. In a "normal" case it really makes no difference.

They are mostly for looks. Decide if you want steel, glass, plastic, or God know what. Maybe you like the mouth feel of plastic over metal. Maybe you really like yellow. Maybe you don't care and will use whatever came with the atty.

The mini protank III that you are looking at-

It's a bottom coil 'clearomizer or glassomizer'

Coils-That's these things
Kanger ProTank 3 & Aerotank - Dual Coils - 5 Pack 2.0ohms

You'll need to purchase extra coil heads/wicks. Then read up on how to get the most out of them, cleaning &
maybe eventually rewicking them yourself so you wouldn't need to purchase anymore. I just clean & use as long
as I can & buy replacements. I have 2 mini pro II but they are backups & I don't use them very much so I don't
have and issue with $$ spent.

2.0 ohms in smack in middle of your options (for a starter that isn't building their own).
