Drip with a Clearomizer?

Hi guys, I'm a noob to vaping and the ECF, so I apologize in advance if this is a "dumb question".

I just recently upgraded from the Blu to a Vision Spinner with a V2 (i think) clearomizer. I've been consistently on Johnson Creek juice (which I love), but am trying to branch out from their flavor selection and have ordered several new flavors from other vendors. Is there a way to drip using a clearomizer? I want to try all of the flavors I have without having to fill the clearomizer and clean out afterwards before using a new flavor. I'm beginning to think, based on the lack of info found when searching, that you can only do this with an atomizer?

It's much more efficient to just get an atomizer to drip (or a few for that matter), in my opinion.

Otherwise, you'd have to fill the clearomizer to some extent (enough to wet the wicks) then after you're done testing, empty it to the best of your ability, then clean it with pure grain alcohol.

Possible, just way more extensive than just having a few test atomizers.

Yep, clearos wont work for dripping (also don't put citrus, cola, cinnamon, or mint juices in your clearo as these will at minimum cloud the plastic and will eventually crack the plastic)
I just got some regular 510 atomizers and drip in those (3 drops max or you will get juice on battery connector) - make sure you order a drip tip also to put on end (I don't drip down it - take it off - drip on atty bridge - put drip tip back on - vape about 5 times - repeat)
Just ordered an RBA from fast tech to try (you need an advanced PV for these - one that can check ohms and has short protection - ie: Vamo, provari, zmax etc - and of course, wire and wick)

I personally like the clearomizer better. Dripping is too much like work for me.

Although I haven't actually tried dripping yet (waiting to get some atty's, I'm still brand new to this) I think I'll probably agree with you. I like the idea of filling a clearo up and not worrying about it - especially since I seem to be chain vaping quite a bit.

Having said that, I do want to use some atty's for the same reason the OP mentioned - being new to this and having so many options, I have already ordered close to 20 juices (took me all of a week) from three different vendors! I'm definitely thinking a dripping atty will make it much easier to try them all out.

You can drip onto a clearo. Not sure I would recommend it as anything other than an emergency measure.

Clean out the clearo, dry out the wicks and remove the silicone cap from the atomizer head. Now you can drip directly on the coil. Capacity will probably only be 1 or 2 drips. If the clearo has long wicks, they will absorb liquid. You could consider trimming long wicks.

Don't forget to put the silicone cap back on before you refill the clearo.

Side note: a 510 dripping atomizer costs as little as a few bucks and will work better. If you're stuck and have some bottom coil cartomizers around, you can pull out the stuffing and it will make a pretty good dripper.

OP - do you still have your blu??

I'm assuming it's built like the disposable ecig I used. It's easy to modify. As the poster above said, 'if you're stuck and have some bottom coil cartomizers around, you can pull out the stuffing and it will make a pretty good dripper'. Well, your old blu has a cartomizer - that's simply the tip at the end which holds the juice. Pull out the little disk thing (cap) in the end you suck on (it's usually white with a little hole in the middle), then look into the ecig. You will see a little tube in the center and some filter material (stuffing) around it. Simply pull out the stuffing, rinse it out and add a drop or two of the juice you want to test. Try not to get any in the tube. It'll work just fine for a few puffs which is all you really need.

Sweet! Thanks, Barbara, I'll give that a try!

You can drip on just about anything. CE4's, Vivi Novas, bottom coil cartomizers, CE3's, ect. Anything with an easily accessible coil will do. I've dripped with converted cartomizers, CE4's, 901's, 510's and 801's. There's no real science to it. You put a drop or two onto the coil, vape until it's dry and repeat.

The real hassles with dripping come in learning the tolerances of your chosen atomizer. Every atomizer, whether an actual atomizer or a modified clearo or carto, is going to be slightly different. Some will hold more liquid than others, or flood easily, ect. Even practiced drippers can experience some frustration when trying out a new atomizer.

As for the thought about the Blu cartos, they are bottom coil cartomizers so they can be converted into dripping atomizers relatively easily. before pulling out that polyfil, it's best to rinse it with water. Otherwise, the glycerin in the nicotine liquid can act like a glue and pull that air tube completely out. As for avoiding getting juice in that center air tube, that's only a major issue with unsealed batteries. If you're using a manual battery, then for best results you should drip straight down the air tube. The reason for this is that the coil actually resides inside that air tube, slightly above the base of the carto. Dripping down the sides of the carto will result in either dry hits or flooding of the atomizer. Either way it will be a very frustrating experience, in my opinion.

Barbara, that worked perfectly. Thanks for the advice! Will probably still get an atty soon, as I HATE the Blu performance. But for the time being it was nice to know.
