I've had mine for 2 days now,and I don't really care for the included rda,but it works,(just not great!) So I put a velocity mini BF on it with a .3 spaced 26ga.dual coil build. The flavor is over the top! :)
That's the mini? I've been eyeing that for awhile just because. It's what we do.

I'm surprised at the height. I thought it shorter..

So has anyone tried running the atty with builds around 1 ohm?
Kinda wanting to cut back my juice consumption from 20+ mls @ 1 mg to less than tankfull @ 5 mg with higher build.
Kinda wanting to use this kombo, but does it produce ANY vapor at around 1 ohm?
The reason for asking I like the way this thing works with stock coils and wouldn't be wanting to waste me time with something that doesn't produce wanted results, aka decent amount of vapour, flavour isn't an issue with flavourless nicbase.:D

I picked up one of these yesterday, liked the form factor and a bottom feed for around $50, how do you beat it?
Like what I've been reading mostly on this page, I like a tighter draw myself, I'm a Kayfun fanatic for reference. I'm also a nic freak, I have chronic pain and am trying to get back into vaping now that my meds are halfway stabilized. I'm waiting on my NET juice to show, but found a local shop that would make me up some 36mg juice.
I tried the stock build, don't do this! If you ever wondered what it would be like to smack your pecker with a hammer, it's probably pretty close! It's WAY TOO MUCH!
I came home and built a 4.5mm .7 ohm build with 28ga Kanthal. Better, but still too airy. So I did the same build in a 2.5mm, a little more flavor, but still too airy and I couldn't cut it down without gaging!
To the quoted post, today I built a 1.2 ohm dual coil at 2.5mm, I've got the AFC a little less than 1/2 open, decent flavor, but lack luster vapor, next to none in fact, and it's still airy. So I'd advise against a build like this, maybe a single coil, but not the dual for sure.
Right now, it seems the sweet spot is around .7 ohms in stock configuration. I'm not sure if I'm going to try some of the mods I've seen here, or just pick up a new BF atty. I've seen several at Angelcigs, just have to find one with a smaller chamber to suit my tastes better.
Overall though, I'm pretty happy with the silly thing. It seem built well, mine sits flat on a table fine, love the size, love the feed design of the atty (one reason I hate to change to another one) and the size is just about perfect! About the same size as my Vmod mini, but it doesn't leak all over everything!
I still don't care for the magnetic door, and I hate the battery door, the threads on mine aren't smooth at all, so it's a real bear to get off and on.
But I paid $50 at a local B&M for it, so how can you complain for that money?

Yeah, got tied up in a fiasco on another forum, then had a year of Hell playing with new meds and Dr's trying to get my back pain tolerable. Been a rough couple of years! So I just took a sabbatical for a while. Trying to get back into the swing of things again now.

Sounds like it has been Kinda a Rough Stretch. Sorry to hear it.

It must be Kinda Wild to get back into things after some Time Off. Seems like in the Last Year/18 Months, things have changed So Much hardware-wise.

Good to see you again.

I was too, until I discovered bottom-feeding about two years ago. The supplied atty is definitely not optimal for that style of vaping. Trouble is there are very few anymore that are. Everyone seems to want big air for direct lung hits and I refuse to go there.

Chalice III clone. Too tight for me now. In my early days would have been awesome though. You'll more than likely have to realign the inner airflow ring.

I drilled the hole wider too. Still too tight. Great flavor and maybe the draw sawlight is looking for.

From what I've read, I like it! Can't find it in the US, other than Evilbay, and don't care for the post mounts on the Fasttech version, so it looks like Gearbest?

I couldn't take the 1.2 ohm build anymore, I had to go back to a .7, still lung hitting it, not my fav, but it's still plugging along.

You'll see what I mean. More than likely you'll have to adjust the inner airflow directional ring. If you're lucky yours will align with top cap screwed on. If not, take a nail or drill bit and hammer and knock it out. Tap going from hole to hole until it comes out. Mark proper position on top cap when screwed on and pop back in...

It is pretty short! The thing I like about it is,you can adjust the air flow, and drip tip to get the flavor/vapor you want.

No I'm totally interested in it. I'll probably get one just because. Think it's a great versatile rda. I just have issues with "taller" RDAs on my BF's. Like a low profile look.

My just heavily modified chalice. All this talk. Taller but, I'll deal. I drilled every single hole as wide as allowed by the edges. Thing is vaping wonderfully now for my tastes. Wish I could tell you the bit size I used. Nothing on the shank. Just eyed it.

@Eddiadams, thanks for the pic, says a lot! I think it might be a lot tall for me as well! I just ordered a velocity mini from angelcigs, I was wanting to get the Hobo while I was there, but money is always tight it seems!
I'll still order a Chalice someday, but will wait until I've got some other things I want to make it worth the trouble of waiting for it to ship.
I like the looks of this mod/atty setup as it is and the black velocity seems to follow along the same lines and I should be able to tighten it up more than the stock atty.
Thanks so much for all the help and insight so far!

Very welcome. Just recommending something with a tight draw. From what I've read the velocity, even on its most restrictive setting is fairly airy. Will be curious about your feedback.

I stuck an RM 2 on it. Tight draw!

I priced them last night, too rich for my blood!

I appreciate the suggestion for sure, and will get one down the road. I will report back and let you know. But as others have said, the design of this is making me think I may have to change my vaping habits to better match the mod.

Have had the Dripbox since the eighth. Impressed with the mod.
 • Thumbs up for the bottle installation apparatus. Simple, quick and haven't had the first internal leak even though vaping max VG.
 • The battery cap allows for easy adjustment for the slight difference in 18650 lengths. No rattles.
 • Very lightweight. Pocket tee shirt friendly. This point is likely emphasized coming from a regular RX200 vaper.
 • No inadvertent bottom bottle tube cap removals as of yet but I can see the potential.
 • The dark bottle looks nice but is inconvenient when checking juice level.
Less than impressed with the atty.
 • Very airy with almost all of it flowing above the coils. A rebuild with the coils raised helped. Still not much flavor but a lot of cool(temperature) clouds.
Installed a Vortice RDA but still not as much flavor as an Aromamizer RTA.

Received the Derringer V3 from FT today. Installed a 2.5mm BF pin from Fat Daddy Vapes. Instant dry/burnt hit with a .23Ω dual 26g SS build. Replaced with a .5Ω dual 26g Kanthal build to achieve a very nice flavorful and cloudy vape. Will likely drop a wrap on the next build to warm it back up a notch.

Have a Stumpy ordered, which I plan to convert.

Would definitely replace the mod if it were lost tomorrow.

ENJOY
