There is this battery but my previous experience with trustFire is not good at all.
This is unprotected
- TrustFire 14500 3.7V 900mAh without overcharge and overdischarge circuitry
Dimensions: 1.97 in x 0.59 in x 0.59 in
Weight: 1.48 oz

I totally agree about trustFire, we need to look at the test results of different batteries from the battery forums. I suspect that the picture the site posted on these is incorrect because they specifically mention they are unprotected

The picture is correct, but the text isn't. On the posted picture one can read "with PCB" :)

The German Batterytest site tests batteries "only" for 2A, 3A and 5A. There the EFest 14500 Flat Top was great, and the only battery that could be tested with 5A. AW was is the 2nd best in general but only specified for up to 4A. There was another battery that had a rather bad voltage drop but was able to keep working way longer than others so it finally shows some good mAh values. Voltage drop is not so important for regulated devices as long as the battery does not fall below the limit we are fine.

But I am curious to see what Imeo has found for us (reminds me about the GG battery) and will not buy new batteries until Proteus comes out... :)

Edit - added battery charts...
14500 (3A)
14500 (5A)

I don't think Imeo will spill the beans just yet guys before he's ready to unveil Proteus.

When Proteus was first announced - 14500 AW IMR were recommended - many of us ordered 4-6 right away - I still have mine ready to go. They are no problem to find with authorized AW seller like COV - he will need to order many more - He sold out right away - ordered more and sold out again.

AW batteries can no longer be shipped by air anymore - ground travel and that takes quite awhile. If a person wishes to order from Andrew direct - 6-8 weeks for batteries to get to you.

To Everyone - My take on efest ( I have had all the sizes) - if you sold them to me for a dollar a piece - I would buy the AWs over them - I do not wish to argue over this - It is my opinion. They do not hold like AW's

I have not tried the Sony's

On using 14500 batts::

"If you eliminate the voltage problem that small batteries have keeping them steady then there is no problem vaping at 3,6 volts. The bad thing with smaller batteries is the voltage drop, we will not have this now." - Imeo
