Dripping a pen-style

Question for you pen drippers out there...

I started on a 901, and have all but switched to a pen. I know the pen uses more liquid. I was dripping 2 drops in the 901. How many drips can you put into the pen without worrying about seepage into the battery? I've been putting around 5. I'd like to know what everyone else is doing...

Dave--3 or 3 drops in a penstyle is more then adequate. After taking apart many failed batteries, and seeing the e-liquid stains that run down in the inside of them, I no longer drip as dripping was the sole demise of the battery. Upon testing the battery after it was out of the housing, everyone of them was good. The pressure switch was the cause of the failure. If you are going to drip, I would advocate a manual switch like Yang's USB passthough and plugging the battery hole with silicone calking or a piece of rubber---Sun

I can recommend the Janty Kissbox with a manual switch as an excellent dripper. The switch is sealed so no liquid can migrate to delicate parts.

Unless you have the Janty Kissbox with a manual switch, like Breakfeast said--then you have to block the battery hole that goes to the atomizer with a manual switch. You do not have this option with an auto passthough as the hole is needed to fire the connection pressure switch when you draw on it---Sun

Today I looked out the window and had an idea. Was gona post a new thread for it.. but this thread seems right for it.

I looked out the window and there was a drop of rain on the screen on the window and then I felt a breeze. Anyone see where I am going with this?

So if there were a wire mesh screen on the hole for the battery it could prevent liquid seeping into the battery, but still allow air to pass thru and activate the battery. If the liquid collected on the mesh.. a proper hard inhale should pull the liquid back towards the atomizer and away from the battery. If it were on the outside of the battery (right by the hole) instead of the inside it could be cleaned with a papertowel by blotting it if it became necessary.
I don't wana mess up a new battery with experimentation (prob needs to be soldered to avoid contact with both poles on the battery) but a dead one won't do the job for this experiment... so if anyone wants to try it... go for it

(was thinking the brass screens they use in glass pipes should have a small enough mesh to them.. $3 at any "hookah" type shop... or I have some and would mail them to anyone who wanst to attempts this... my cousin left them here and I had no idea what they were... I though they were like mini bandaids or something lol!)

I have considered the brass screen concept, Spikey, But, it is still porous, so any significant negative pressure (like that which triggers the battery switch) can still leech liquid into the battery. The manual switch is still best for dripping.

I use this same unit and I usually use 3-4 drops tops.
