As you guys know I'm very new (and still trying to find my place). Two weeks ago I was guided through the decision process by the group here and I am so thankful. You guys did me right and I'm so happy now with my setup. The community here has been awesome as far as sending me samples and offering to meet up to show off their gear (I still want to so that darkgear and dam). I was reminded by a thread I just saw to say thank you guys for all the info and nudge I needed to make the purchase. I'm so pleased with this product and pretty sure there's no turning back for me with it.

So here's my question: I've started ordering juice from mbv and when it gets here it has to steep. Which leads me to te need to drip as it steeps. I have a clone if some dripper on my k100 but it's almost at te point of rebuilding or rewicking (whatever it's called ) and it's ohms are too low anyway for the provari. I use carto tanks and like that I use a carto and then throw it away once it's burned out. I'm too lazy to get into rebuilding and honestly barely have the time to prime the cartos. So I'm looking for a way to drip my new flavors on the provari that has heads or atomizers that I just replace when they run out. I'm totally clueless on this so all info is helpful. I'm not sure but an atomizer and a drip shield and a drip tip? Does that create a way?

Thanks for all the awesomeness that I'm sure I'll see as this thread grows.

I drip very simply. My preferred atty is an LR306, but I sometimes use a 510. Both attys are inexpensive (under $8) and easy to use. These are fairly good prices for single units (I buy in bulk, so they are cheaper):

Low Resistance (LR) Atomizer - 306
Joyetech Joye 510 Atomizer

I don't drip using the ProVari because of the weight. When dripping I hold the device in one hand and drip with the other and after awhile the ProVari feels too heavy. I use a tiny little box mod, so the 306s I use are ≈ 1.5Ω, whereas with a ProVari I would use a higher resistance. Anyway, I have a blog about dripping. The overall method is the same, no matter what kind of atty you use. It takes a little practice, but it's not difficult.

Drip, Drip, Drip…

ETA: The reason I would use a higher resistance atty with the ProVari is that it would have a wider range of settings than my unregulated little box mod.

If you don't want to drip, you can use a Nano clearomizer. Holds only 1 ml of e-liquid (more than enough to sample a flavor), can be emptied and refilled without cleaning, easy top fill by removing the mouthpiece. It is a clearomizer, so some flavors may be muted. It is also made of polycarbonate, so not safe with tank-cracking flavors. But for $3 each this is a great way to sample flavors.

I think I only have one juice that I use that doesn't crack the non Pyrex tanks. I think what I'm looking for is just the single atomizer going onto the provari. I only vape with my provari so I want to find out the closest I can to what it's going to taste like once I put it in a tank. Plus I use mbv so they have to sit for a while and I need to be able to test to find out when they're ready. So I think the atomizers are my best bet? What's a drip shield and what would I use it with? I just plug my drip tip into the top of the atomizer? Or are there parts missing from that? I've seen the provaris with what I think is just an atomizer, shield and a tip on it? Is that for dripping?

I've seen you post about the stingray before and looked it up. What all do I need to have to use this atomizer? Or let me rephrase- how do I use this atomizer without posing a risk to myself and more importantly my provari?

You use it the same way as described in my blog. For some reason the page isn't loading completely for me, so I can't tell the resistance, but just start low (maybe 3.3, 3.4) and dial up until it tastes good.

As far as a "risk," repeat after me, "I own a ProVari." You can't hurt the ProVari. If the resistance is too low or too high for the voltage you have set it at, it won't fire. That protection is one of the reasons we buy ProVaris. :)

Also, keep in mind that dripping is the most flavorful way of vaping, so the juice may taste a little muted by comparison when put in a device.

Awesome blog. Now I just have to figure out about drip shields

It takes him a while to get into the meat of his information but this guy gives a relatively thorough explanation and demonstration on dripping, atomizers, and drip shields.

So looks like what I need is 510 to 510 doohickey, 510 atomizer and a drip shield. Did I hit it on the head?

You don't have to use a drip shield. I was dripping along just fine before I ever heard of them, so were lots of other people.

A 510 atty uses a regular trip tip. A 306 (which has a 510 connection) needs a different size drip tip, but many come with them. Screw on atty, drip, vape. For me, adding a 510-510 adaptor to use a drip shield just adds more stuff I would have to buy and put together.

I used the Stingray and it dripped well, that is until I dripped a VERY strong lime juice and I can't get the lime taste out. If you follow Ocey's dripping blog, you can't go wrong. It's very easy to do.

It's a bit if a learning curve. I did flood it once and another time got the worse burnt hit I have ever gotten while vaping. It has nothing to do w/the Stingray tho, it was all user error.
