I mean 510
Hello,
I wanted some advice on dripping directly on the atomizer. I have a 501 which I like but feel that the battery life is way too short. I have grown tired of cartridges... making them, filling them etc. I would like to drip instead. My questions are:
How many drops of e juice should you use and are some atomizers better than others?
I would appreciate any words of wisdom so I can enjoy dripping.
Thanks

If you have an auto battery - none. If you have a sealed manual battery - 2 drops, 4 tops and then you're pushing flooding. I've found little difference in attys as far as different vendors go. They're all Joye 510's with a few exceptions - BE510 and Some other supposed 'clones'. The only difference in the Joye 510's is the wide band, narrow band and color plastic bands and then what is scrolled on them. One other difference - Janty guarantees their 'classic' attys but you pay for that up front. I like dietsmokes 'red scorpion/white tie' attys because the plastic doesn't get as hot as the wide bands. But I lost a red scorpion last night - first dead atty in 4 1/2 months. I had been cleaning and rotating every week but haven't for the last two weeks - just seeing how that would go. I think I'll return to that routine.

You know, I did drip using an auto battery but it seemed to work well. Is there a problem dripping using an auto instead of a manual?
Let me know.
Thanks

Some do but you have to be careful - keep the angle on the batt, etc. The auto battery is not sealed and that hole in the bottom of the atty is aligned with the hole in the battery and there is the auto switch and processor in there - liquid and electronics don't mix. I've killed three autos because I had manuals so long and always dripped 2 drops on top offs and out of habit I finally got to the autos and they quit immediately - tried to dry them out quick but no go. The manual batts have a metal disc that blocks that hole. If you really overfill or over drip and flood the atty to where you get juice along the casing you _could_ short out a manual via the switch hole but frankly I've never heard of anyone doing that. The more straight route is from dripping, through and past the coil out the atty hole to the batt hole to the auto switch.

So if dripping's your thing, a manual is much safer.
