I have had the KFL+ for a month now and it has been great, I have 1.1 ohm twisted 32g with cotton build in it and it works great on my nemesis. Last night I decided to try some suicide bunny O.B. in it, and just kept getting the worst dry hits. I had previously been using a 50/50 PG/VG mix juice and it worked flawlessly. I think the suicide bunny is 70VG/30PG? I even tried to add a few drops of water. Any tips? or do I need a different build for the higher VG juice?

Thanks in advance!

your build should be ok for that lvl of vg/pg I would try cleaning the coil and rewick it. to clean it remove the wick heat the coil up till it s hot, release the button while its hot and dip just the coil in water, do this several times your coil will be shiny new, then rewick it. I'm using 1.2 Ohm and 1 ohm on my Kayfuns using 60vg40pg and 70/30 for some juice no issues, but I clean and rewick as soon as I get any difference in flavors.

I vape bobas bounty from alien visions its 100% vg, 4 wrap 28g .8 ohm. I find less is more with cotton wick, and before put on the top of the bell stick visual check the juice wells are completely open I use needle bottle to arrange wick...seems to when filling a few light primer puff cover air hole and letting off the build little pressure, I never have any trouble

With KFL what works great with one flavour can be wrong for another flavour such as going from a 50/50 clean flavour such as my basic peppermint then going to a heavy VG tobacco or something like a coffee or other heavy on the sugars liquids.

For liquids that are cleaner or more fluid you need more cotton/ wick material, for dirty/ heavy or fast gunking like NETs you need less wick material. If you vape at low resistance such as .8 or less, again you are burning off the juice so you need it to stay viscous and need to have less wick so it can keep up the the burning, especially if chain vaping. For higher resistance set ups etc. Its a matter of balance all dependent on your vaping style.

I love the KFL, great cloud maker, easy to build, but I love my Odysseus better even though it means twisting wires for the juice control which allows that control.

Really?? Lorrie said if anyone told her something better than her KFL's she would try it...now ya got me googling!! thanks!! :p

Thanks everyone for all the tips. Just me being lazy, a new wick and dry burn the coil and no dry hits...the coil was pretty gunked up...I'm in a happy place now...

I clean my coil and rewick every tank...I don't know what others do...but they are easy enough to do..after I dry burn, I also take my tweezers and ream out the coil, heat and then rinse and repeat, then check resistance and re wick :) :2c:

Adjustable AFC can also be used to fine tune wicking issues. However as mentioned it should primarily be done with the way you wick your KF.

A tighter draw means stronger vacuum which means it will draw liquid more vigorously onto the coil. Too tight with thinner liquid and it may create flooding and so on and so forth.

I experienced the exact same thing this morning with my KFL+. I had normally been building 1.5-1.9 coils with cotton and decided to try a lower ohm. First tank was great. When I refilled, I think I over filled a little. I let sit overnight and this morning took a couple of dry hits and fired it up. Immediately had that dry, burnt taste. AFter about 10 minutes it didn't go away. Tore it down thinking I'd find a black piece of cotton. It was perfect. Nothng in the juice well and cotton nice and white. I rewicked and now back to normal.

All good brother it's just forgetting the basics and its easy to do when we are tied up in everyday life. I'm glad that worked out for you. I like to rewick as soon as I detect any off flavor. Sometimes it will only be a fluke one bad hit or dry hit so I wait till I get several or 2-3 in a row. I use VV VW device that will show me Ohms of my coil, that's how I keep track of a diminished coil. when the resistance starts getting higher its time to change it out. I let them go till there at .5 higher then the build. I like to stay in the 1.2 - 1.5 ohm range
