Are these exactly the same atomizer? I know most sell the DSE901 atomizer for around $10, but Dietsmokes sells them for 9 and ruyandirect sells them for $6. How is this possible? Are the e-smokeytreats a better atomizer or just an e-smokeyRIPOFF?

I don't get it...

I believe that ordering from ruyandirect is just that as they are based in china if I am not mistaken. Smokeytreats has to order from a supplier and pay shipping then they have a product to sale to the public.. It depends how much they are originally charged plus shipping then markup ect.. Its called basic business as most want to make some sort of profit. It also takes longer to get when you order from ruyandirect if I am not mistaken..

ah! Makes sense!

Well I have often wondered why people don't start charging more for atomizers. Isn't the rule supply and demand? I know I'd be MORE than happy to pay $20 bucks for an atomizer if it came to it.

Tell me about it..at this point I would probably pay that much too to get the atomizer i need from a US supplier instead of waiting the endless days from UK.

You guys should also know that while most sellers have a 14 day guarantee, Phil gives a 3 month warranty on his hardware...some people feel it's worth the extra for that.

(Though I don't see how he does it--this stuff is just not designed to last that long, and I do daily maintenance of my stuff too!)

Yep, and juice is $50/500ML, and e-cig kits are <$20 direct from china too. What's your point? LOL

Supply and demand, shipping, markup, cost of business - and you as a consumer hold the cash.

Everybody sells stuff for whatever they want to... but nobody holds a gun to yer head to buy it there either...

I believe Phil had quite a long warranty until last week, which means that particular atomizer price may be leftover from before "buy one, get 3 free" if they died... so that price would cover his warranty losses... guessing, who knows :)

Correction: he STILL has a 3 month warranty.
e-Smokey Treats - e-Smokey Treats Warranty information
So there ya go
16 or 17 bucks for a guaranteed 3 month atomizer...

or maybe go thru 4 of them at 10 bucks each over the next 3 months from somewhere else? There's your gamble, and where the extra markup is. Cool?

The answer to this is real simple. I bought my first e-cig kit from e-smokey a 901. It took exactly 2 days to get to my door. While it was enroute, I saw some of pingonlines Chinese seller) auctions for everything including 901 kits and wondered why the huge price difference. I had heard about battery life on these things so I ordered a battery from pingonlines so I'd have an extra. wow, I though what a price difference. Well I loved my 901 kit but like a lot of this stuff, I had a dead atomizer. Thankfully unlike many of the kits, Phil at e-smokeytreat has the foresight to include 2 atomizers in his starter kit. I emailed Phil and let him know about the dead atomizer. that call resulted in an immediate email plus a call from Phil apologizing for the dead atomizer and offering to immediately make it right. He even offered a discount code for future orders. Back to the pingonlines battery from ebay, it arrived in about 18 days which is par for the course with products ordered from china. The battery I received was put on a full charge cycle but has a faulty switch, extreme suction is required to activate it. I emailed pingonlines and told him of the issue, and had to email a second time to get an answer. He too offered to replace it. Only thing is I had to ship the defective product back to China on my own dime. I am not bashing pingonlines here, because I guess what he offered is standard fare, but obviously it was not worth my time and postage to send this thing back to China so I let it go. So to me it is clear why a guy like Phil has to charge a higher price for what appears to essentially the same goods. He offers service and to me having that level of speedy efficient service is well worth the premium that is paid to get it. I will stay stateside now, no more China, and actually after going a few rounds with epuffer on their product and service, no more Canada either.

ruyandirect has a one year warranty. I sent back a penstyle atomizer and paid for shipping a whooping $1.27 got the atomizer a month later though. with ruyandirect you get the absolute best prices but you have to wait a few weeks for them to arrive. he will carry usb passthroughs soon if I'm not mistaken and more liquid flavors. what I don't understand is why his shipping prices are cheaper than most of suppliers here in the states.

His standard shipping is cheaper, however look at the time it takes for it to arrive. Standard shipping is like Parcel Post. It's cheap, but very slow. EMS Shipping is like Priority Mail, It costs more, but delivery is much faster. Most of our suppliers use the higher priced priority simply because of the speed, and the delivery confirmation and tracking. In order to say shipping is cheaper, you must compare apples to apples in this case.

Ummmm, his EMS shipping (6 days from payment time) is only $13.......... which isn't much more than US priotity mail, and is still faster or equal to the service I've gotten from US sellers.

I paid $21 for my last order from ryd. But regardless, comparing $13.00 to most of the websites, which is a 6.00 base charge (average) 13/6 = 2.166666... or over twice as much for the same service. Priority Mail is supposed to be a 2-3 day service, and if it hasn't been, that would be a result of USPS rather than your suppliers. I'm not saying one is better than the other, they both have advantages and disadvantages, I'm just trying to give a fair comparison.

I'm aware that the cheap shipping from ruyandirect takes a while. I just think that some US suppliers can do alot better on shipping charges. The only US supplier I know of that has fair shipping prices is vaporguys. Other suppliers charge $10 to ship 5 atomizers, I can't say for others but I know that USPS will not charge $10 to ship 5 atomizers domestically. When I can ship one atomizer, with delivery confirmation, for $1.20.
