In general (I do not own DSE601. I have used DSE901 attys)

If it uses an atomizer - you need to have 1 or better 2 spare atomizers. When one gets gunked up and performing badly, you switch to a clean atomizer after priming it with some 3-4 juice drops and waiting for that to soak down to its coil. And you clean the dirty atomizer (I blow it out, then use near boiling water to clean it and soak it, then shake that out, then soak overnight in edible pure grain alcohol, then shake that out, then set it to dry)

If you use cartomizers, get new cartomizers. And I think thin light clear juices make my cartos work better longer (I use 20% or less VG and juices that leave little or no flavoring sediment)

One problem I had with DSE901 attys was they can twist relative to their threaded end and when that happens their side air intake can become partially blocked by some kind of plastic armature that is in the coil compartment. That is hard to fix.

Ignore the advice about cartomizers; they are not compatible with the pipe.

The E-Pipe is partly disposable. You would basically have to replace the pipe body if the atomizer isn't doing it for you. I would assume that since you get two batteries with the kit, at least one of the batteries is still working ok.

The simplest thing you can try before starting with a replacement pipe, would be to see if the cartridges are wicking ok. Using a pair of tweezers, you can try pulling out the filler from the cartridge and adjusting it so it's flush with the end of the cartridge. Use tweezers so you don't pull the filler out of shape and make it harder for it to wick properly.

You can also try removing the pipe handle and dripping 3 drops directly on the atomizer to see if that improves vapor production.

If the e-pipe is your main system, consider getting a regular e-cigarette kit as your main system. The e-pipe is kind of fun to play with, but expensive to replace when it wears out.

I don't know if this helps, but when I pulled out the first prefilled cartridges and rinsed out all the juice under hot water. Until I couldn't smell the juice on it anymore. Then I nuked it in the microwave for 2 minutes and gave it some time to dry. Then I filled it with my own juice and popped it in the pipe. The cartridge isn't very good at delivering all the juice to the atomizer, so I've just kept topping off the cartridge.

Also, with the pipe, there's a lot more air to draw. I've just been taking deep breaths when I'm inhaling and keep it going for several seconds, up to 10 seconds, in fact. I'm going to get a big hit regardless of how feebly the thing is normally performing.
