This is my first 901 and I'm pretty pleased with it. Smokes well, good flavours etc. If I have a problem with it it's battery life and charge time. This will cease to be a problem once I get another couple of chargers, but at the moment I'm going through two batts before the third is ready.

All in all a great style and a good model

do you stick them on charge well before they have died,if so doesnt this damage the life of the battery.
like mobiles had the same problem if you didnt empty the full charge you lost the bit that was left in, next time you charge and use it !

even thow i think the 901 is good design darcy i cant held but think are all 901s the same or just the ones from a certain unknown chinese factory..

we have been thru many 901 atomizers.. mostly the well finished shiny ones with the neat lettering.. all from the pillbox chap..

we have have had some plain matt looking ones with no lettering.. the paint finish isnt as durable and scratches off and the quality just isnt as good as the shiny ones with the lettering.. they dont last as long and they dont produce as much smoke.. all 901 parts but quite clearly not the same 901 parts..

how your new matt one with no lines down the battery fares will be interesting ..

yes i agree Trog...and im curious to know how it fares too, because ive only ever had shiny ones before...

the difference in writing on some of them-some vertical, some wrap around, and now plain matt finish...it seems to point to them being from different manufacturers, different factories or whatever(its china,so who knows?)...and if so,what are the real performance differences between them...

i remember you saying the ones with no writing werent as good ages ago,and ive been more than happy with the shiny ones...so it'll be interesting to see how it goes...and the black one also.

Hi Guys (and Gals)

I just thought jump in here and let you know that the Matt white ones that I supply come from the same manufacturer as the Shiny ones with the wrap around "Mini Cig" text. I opted to stock the matt white as it was more "realistic" looking, but the others are available (special order) if you prefer them.

*** Note to Mods: This seemed to be the right place to talk about this. Just passing on manufacturer information as requested. Please feel free to move if you think it's out of place :) ***

Thanks
Smokester!

well thats interesting...i wonder if trogs were simply weak ones,or if they originated from another manufacturer,or if the difference is more than skin deep in some way?i guess we'll never know...

so far i see no real difference in short term performance between the matt and the shiny yet...

hopefully they'll last just as long anyway...so far so good...and yes, they certainly do look the part...im pleased with it.

i know darcy.. i took some of my dead ones apart.. they are different things.. its not just the paint job.. my youngest son was the first to notice the paint came off.. in fact with it all rubbed off they look quite nifty with a stainless steel finish..

as for the finish.. the shiny ones have some super tough indestructible boil proof last for ever paint job.. the matt ones.. well it could be from a spay can.. it scratches off very easily..

the wire wool bridge is not so wide as the shiny ones.. the difference with the ones we had is more than skin deep.. the same basic design but either from a different batch or from a different place..

in short they seemed a poorer quality part.. this simply applies to the ones we had.. all i know for sure is that not all 901 parts are the same..

one thing to note.. our matt parts came as spare parts.. they all came from pillbox.. where he gets or did get them from we have no idea..

trog

ps.. they work at first the poorer quality dosnt leap out at u.. in fact some would say they look more real than the shiny ones.. but over time the finish came off and the poorer build quality became apparent to us.. i still have some worn out ones..

so there not as good trog. don like the sound of a smaller wool bridge could kill atomizer quick.
Were they cheaper than the standard ones trog,i know smokesters getting some in i think i will steer clear away from them.
