Whats up JJ,yeah I did try some AVE 100% flue cured in the tanks and they worked but not as good as just slapping it in a dcc.I know I could make bigger hole just not got around to trying it.Now with about 50pg/50vg these tanks with pre-punched cartos selling now are awesome anymore vg than that u would have to mod the pre-punched hole carts imo for the hit I would like.I hope maybe down the line hoog could get smoktech to start making some pre punched with a little bigger hole or 2 smaller one's which ever would work best with 100%VG if they don't make them yet.

I've got a question too. Just finished my 2nd tank using one of these Smoketech DCT's. When it vapes without gurgling or flooding I really like it. But I'm having some issues with it.

1.) A lot of gurgling with is telling me too much juice int he carto.

2.) I'm getting a lot of juice drops in my drip tip and have to blow out the tip often. When this happen's I look at the filler and it doesn't appear to be soppy yet I get the juice build up in the tip and obviously tastes yucky if I get it in my mouth. yuck!

3.) And when the tank gets on the low side, the carto actually floods to the point you can see juice pooling on the top of the carto stuffing.

I'm surprised at this because I'm vaping a 50/50 PG/VG blend and the stock carto hole is the wee, little one. I've heard from a few other ECF'ers that they stopping using the DCTs because they have the same problems.

So - for you that are not having these problems - what are you doing right?

I'm wondering if the carto is not tight enough in the tank and there a minor air leak building pressure in the tank. I've had other tanks that if they leaked air, they flooded. aarrgghh! I'd like these tanks and would like to figure out why they flood.

Are there any carto's that are as long as the Dual coils but 'not' dual coil I could try in the tank?

@ Mike I am not an expert user, but I have been using my tank for approximately 3 days without issue. How are you filling the tank are you removing the rings or did you follow the directions on Madvapes? I ask this because I made tanks using syringes before and I would run into the same issues you are having when I removed the top ring and filled the tank. When you do this it creates too much pressure thus causing the carto to flood.
When you pull the carto downward to fill without moving the rings the pressure build up in the tank is less. People have mentioned on this thread using resurrectors from CCV in place of the Dual coils I have not tried this personally.

I don't know the correct answer to that but I don't ever remove the seals/rings if I can help it because the more u remove them the less tighter they may become to cause leaks just my opinion. When clean I just wash them under warm water with everything attached.

Thank you. I kinda figured that was the case, but being a "germaphobe" I just had to ask.

tinifreak and wyojoe - thanks for replying. Yes for filling I do pull the carto down from the bottom and fill with a syringe from the top. Then slowly push the carto back in. I have two of these tanks the large 6ml one and a smaller 3.5ml size.

The large one I have problems with. To eliminate an issue with the carto - I took the carto from the large tank and put it in the smaller tank. So same carto and e-liquid in the smaller one and I've been using that carto in the smaller tank for a couple days without any flooding issues. I just don't know why the larger tank gurgles and floods. I really wonder if there's a small air leak - but I don't get any juice leaks at either end. It stumps me.

MikeE3, it might help if you slid the carto down below the top seal just enough to get the syringe between the carto and the top seal, that way when you fill it the air will not be trapped, then just push the carto back up thru the top seal.

I noticed the smoktech has prepunched that have a base that the tank will sit on obviously if u punch your own they wouldny have that base design. Any issues with the tank sliding down too far idk if madvapes prepunched ate the same. I actually ordered two of these tanks theyre very good price comparef to most venders at 30 to 50. Any issues with cracking or leaking?

For what it's worth -

The carto fits snug enough that I don't think you'll have a problem using non-flanged carto's. I personally haven't tried it yet. In another thread someone posted that they actually cut the tank down and use standard length Boge carto's and he didn't have a problem with it sliding up or down. He said he could even pick it up by the tank without a problem. And he was using it on a Provari, if I recall.

I guess I am gonna ask this again has anyone removed the seals/rings to clean their tanks? Is this recommended?
I would not think taking the rings out of the tank would hurt anything unless you do it VERY often, When you replace a carto in the tank run water thru it then and that will clean the inside out good. Then after a few tank fulls if you feel the need, I would take the seals out and clean them and put them back in. I have cleaned my rings a few times and had no problems.

Just an FYI... take it for what it's worth, as my experience with these has been more mixed that some here indicate.

I was away from the house for a longer than usual yesterday and had left several partially filled tanks on my workbench in the morning. When I got home late last night, one of the Smok Tech tanks had, while fully assembled, leaked past one of the end caps enough that about a full ml of nicquid was pooled underneath it and under the tubes resting on either side of it.

When these are good they are very good for the money, but I highly recommend frequently checking the seal provided by the caps. With no nicquid in the tube and the caps inserted, there should be a clearly visible "line" all the way around where the o-ring seals against the inside of the tube. If there are any gaps or even sections where the line appears very thin compared to the rest, consider replacing the o-rings or even retiring the tank.

Today I think I'll empty the four larger versions of this that I have, check seals, swap parts to make sure I've got two or three that seal very well and discard any loose-fitting caps and/or tubes.

Thanks mate! I had my PV in my trouser pockets and I guess I sat in a really awkward position and burnt my only punched carto. Long story short, I punched another dual coil without the flange and I managed to remove one of the seals when replacing the carto. My heart skipped a beat, but I did manage to put everything back together and now it works fine. I learned a very valuable lesson yesterday Navy camie trousers are not for PVs!
