Pamdane : Yep. That's what I did. Thanks for the tip. So far my 4th cartomizer has lasted 2 full days and is still full of flavor. Soon as I get a flavor drop, I start filling again. Burning up tons of juice this way...

I think I'm using around 10ml a day, of my favorite TastyVapor Cafe Mach. Painful.

But anyway, thanks guys, I think this problem is finally sorted with your help. Much appreciated. Lesson learned.

If you're vaping 10ml a day then you're chain vaping. I'd be willing to bet that you're not giving the carto time to re-wick properly between vapes thereby getting hot spots around the coils and burning the filler. When you take a vape, the coils sucks up the surrounding juice and vaporizes it. Capillary action causes the surrounding juice in the filler to move toward the area around the coil which was just vacated by the last vape. If you vape before the wick has time to recover and recharge you burn the filler even if your carto is full of juice.

If you're a heavy vaper, it's best to use two or even three devices in series. Fill em with the same juice if you only like one flavor or fill them with three favorites. Use them One after the other when you need a good solid hit. This system allows you to vape as fast as you want but allows the PVs time to recover and re-wick. I keep a gogo, a KGO1100 and a riva750 going at all times with cartos. When I want a satisfying vape, I hit one PV after the other in quick succession and that usually does the trick and allows each PV to recover and avoid burning.

Another option is to carry several loaded up with you. :)

No need to carry juice with you and top off like this.

Here's a pic of some various materials, my filling and cleaning syringe is in there as already posted about, really the best way to load up.

And a pic of a syringe inserted into a carto.
This was for cleaning, but it looks the same for filling.

Recently tried some dual coil cartomizers after getting a little fed up of my CE2 XL clearomizers and their splitting plastic problems...

I've only heard amazing things about both cartomizers and dual coils, But for me they don't really work very well. I have trouble filling them be it the condom method or via sringe. They are so messy it's unreal. Precious juice bloody everywhere with these things. I dunno what the best way too fill them is, as neither of these methods work too well for me, most of the time when it looks right I pick the carto up and see huge puddles of juice simply fallen out of the battery end... I could understand this if I was filling the central hole, but I'm really not and know not to do this. This happened via either method incidentally.

Then we get to the vape proper. I find them excessively harsh on the throat, vapour production not exactly stellar and my liquids often taste much more sutble then I'm used to with the clearomizers. My dual coils are from liberty flights and I ordered the mid range ohms versions. Trouble is I don't really know what ohms I should be going for or indeed anything about volts and the like. They are much harsher on my riva 510 then on my titan mega 510 batteries but harsh and unimpressive on both devices.

Any suggestions guys? Got another pack of these I'm dreading opening and am back on the CE2's for now.

I rarely loose a drop when filling.
I tilt DC and simply drip liquid w/ dropper.
I stop filling when it just starts to gurgle when sucked.
When I top off later I stop when starts to gurgle.
Liquid must be thin to wick properly.
80%PG 20%VG wicks pretty good.
100%PG wicks excellent.

1.5 ohm smok tech DC performs good w/ a strong 3.7v PV.

I use 6mg to 12mg w/ dc and get a quality smooth TH.

I like CE2-X too; just a couple bugs left.

I dropped my nic level from 18mg to 12mg using the dual coil cartomizers and that smoothed out the hit considerably. I have COPD and I don't particularly like a strong TH. Never tried the CE2s you mention but I've found that the dual coils provide better flavor and vapor than single coils IMO. When you say Riva 510 do you mean the Riva 750 fat batt? I know that straight 510 batts that look like cigs are only hitting at 3.4v and DCs will drain power quickly on a small mah batt and the effectiveness drops off dramaticly before the battery is dead.

Ahh it could be that then... In fact it almost certianly is. Are dual coils not meant for anything then a large PV (silver bullet, provari etc?) or mod then? I just figured with a 510 connection any old 510 would handle them? And the riva 510 has a fat battery as such (it's a tornado basically rebranded), like a cigar, but it's not very long and it's life is actually about the same as my Titan mega batteries from Totally Wicked. From what your saying am I potentially damaging my batteries with these dual coil cartos?

The ones I got were these boge ones from LF: Electronic Cigarette - Cartomizers - Boge Cartomizers the middle ones, so 2.5ohms.... Would that be wrong for the devices I'm using?

The Dcs work great on a Riva. It is the minis that you should not use them with. If you have the mega Dual Coils I fill mine with 50-60 drops on first fill. I can leave the house and go for quite awhile without refilling. When at home I top them off with about 10 drops maybe once every 1-2 hours depending on how heavy I am vaping :) :vapor:

BTW- The higher the ohm the cooler the vape but your battery will hold its charge longer with higher ohm cartos so it is a personal preference. :)
