Dual Coil Help!

I can't find the answer anywhere or I wouldn't have posted this. Any ideas would be great...

I have 28g Kanthal A-1 wire and a Nimbus clone.

I can't for the life of me get a dual coil build above sub ohms. I'm at least going for 1.0.

No matter the wraps, or what I wrap my coils on, my Ohm checker shows me a 3 dig number.

I have used a 2mm screw driver and various drill but sizes and I'm never hitting my goal.

Right now I have my Nimbus going with 11 wrap dual coils and it fires off my Origin but it's not the set up I want. Takes too long to warm up and I'm not even sure I should be vaping it with the batt I have ( Panasonic 18650 2900mAh 3.7v)

I even used the spread sheet that is floating around on here to no avail.

Any suggestions?

Use less wraps. You have way to many for the low ohm(s) your looking for.

That would be a micro instead of a nano, (larger diameter wraps) but you still need to use up the same length of wire.

    If you haven't figured it out yet .. here's a hint .. DON'T USE 28GA WIRE FOR A COIL OVER 1 OHM.
    (each coil is 2 ohm)

Uhhh? He is trying to bring up the ohms, either you misread or I did. The only way to get more resistance is a higher gauge (thinner wire) or more wraps. 28g is not the best material for getting dual coils above 1 ohm. 30g should work fine or in my case I use twisted 32g to get .9 ohm dual coils.

I am looking at the diameter of the coils in this picture, what was used to wrap them? looks like there pretty big more like macro coils if I use the post screws as a reference to size. A micro coil with the same number of wraps would be lower ohms, less wire is used to wind on a smaller mandrel for the same number of turns. Nano even lower still.

Sorry, I must have not understood the OP's question. Didn't mean to get anyone's panties in a bunch. Vaping anything over .8 is useless anyhow...
    Wow, this forum has changed.

No panties bunched up here, I am a commando kind of guy. BTW there are plenty of people very happy never running into sub-ohm territory. I personally like .9 duals on my dripper and 1.6-1.8 on my KFL. A friend of mine swears by his 2.5-2.8 single coils and neither him or I think it's useless. I would think if we did a poll most people would say anything below 1 ohm is useless but hey whatever.

    Really!

Wow this 1.3 ohm that's in my KayFun must be really bad, and the 2.2 ohm coils I have in my A7s must be really-really bad!

You need to think in terms of Thermal Dynamics instead of just watts & resistance.

In the past we use to say "2v more than the resistance", but that isn't even in the ball park with the amount of different heads we have to deal with now.

Lol commando comment was awesome. Yeah, I guess whatever works for you and your happy with it and what keeps you off the analogs is a big plus.

Sorry to get you wet again, but the KayFun you speak of is complete trash! Let me guess, you're one of those Provari enthusiasts aren't you? Lmao!
Why would you even get a rebuildable if your not going to sub ohm? Waste of kanthal and time! Stick with the noob material, your better off with one of those plastic tanks at your local B&M bud. ;)
I'll keep to me myself, and my Mec Creation Dragon with a Patriot .5 dual coil to myself now, sorry for the mix up with you tech geeks and all.

I have to beg to differ here The Kayfun line is the best RBA ever made probably ever will be. Don't get stuffy by that comment you have to realize the kayfun has a huge following and with good reason it just flat out works, damn good flavor wise its on par with many many RDAs and that is with even a lousy build and wick job. I also get damn good vapor production from them Wicking is Important in any build wick it properly and it will chuck vapor even with a 1.2ohm build. I vape the kayfun on a Hana clone my Panzer my SVD and whatever else I have it fitted to At that moment
