Dual coils and sub ohming... my batteries?

Hey Vapers

some introduction to my problem.
Today I got my fogger v4, I took the only kanthal I had which was 27g and made 2 coils on a flat head screwdriver with a 2mm diameter (not sure what the drill bit equivalent is). I got a build that reads .8 ohms and my mod of choice was the Cloupor T5. I vaped between 25 - 30 watts.
The first thing I noticed was a very fast battery life drain compared to when I vape on my Kayfun and Veritas
.
In the past I had 2200+ mah batteries, they "magically" disappeared on me.
I went to order new ones but the only ones in stock was 1600 mah 30 amp.

Now here's my question. Is it because of the difference in mah that I am experiencing this difference in battery life?
Is it because it is dual coils and they drain the battery faster? Or could there be another explanation.

Your new batteries are just plain lower capacity. I expect that's mostly it.

A dual coil build should deplete the battery just the same as a single coil coming out at the same overall resistance. I.e. 2 x 1.6 ohm coils = 0.8 ohm dual coil overall VS 1 x 0.8 ohm single coil.

Depends on your mod as well a bit. Were you vaping your kayfun and veritas before on a different mod?

I'm no Electrical Engineer and I didn't sleep in a Holiday Inn last night but here is my simple explanation of mAh.

mAh stand for MilliAmps per Hour. Meaning that on a specific amp draw (your build) your battery will last a certain period of time before depletion.

If you use the same amp draw (your build) on a 2200 mAh battery as you do a 1600 mAh battery, you will deplete the 1600 mAh battery sooner than the 2200mAh battery.

Not only does mAh make a difference. Different brands, type of battery, amp rating; all this makes a huge difference. There was a good write up comparing batteries and their amps as mAh's drain overtime. All in all, Even if you have same brand and type of 2200 mAh battery as the 1600 mAh. If its a different brand and/or type of battery from your original 2200 mAh, it can still perform differently.

Here is a good comparison of the main batteries out there:

Here's a chart of battery tests with graphs that show various comparisons of batteries. Scroll down to the discharge tests and you can compare time to empty at different discharge rates.

You can find the amperage you are vaping at with the Ohm's Law Calculator and use that to determine charge life at that discharge rate in the above charts.
