I used a cup filled with the 7 bean soup from the grocery store..
last week my daughter came home with a mothers day procect of a pen wrapped in floral tape with a cute flower on top in a ceramic painted cup filled with these beans to hold the flowers.. I had mine in a plastic ash tray but this is much nicer and the beans will not scratch my finish.

Anybody thought about using a flower frog? I saw one one somewhere and just haven't taken the time to get one to see if it would work. They are often glass with lots of holes and a big hole in the middle - good for a juice bottle. If I do get one I'll let you know how it works. Right now I use a glass tumbler. Works ok but not really.
I like this idea. I have a crystal bowl I inherited from my grandmother that I put those decorative air freshener rocks in. It's looks nice.
