E-cig importing

Hi Everyone,
I recently got involved in e-smoking though this forum. Every person I that I have talked to about it, or shown my hardware to has been interested in trying it. That has led me toward a desire to open a small brick and mortar store here locally (Central PA) selling hardware, juice, and parts. There are about 80K residents in my area, with a probably higher than average percentage of smokers. More than enough I think to support such a business.

The problem is importing. I spent some time looking through some threads here this weekend, and it has given me serious pause. It seems that importing, even just hardware runs from being a nightmare, to a crap shoot. And this is for people that know what they are doing.

I was wondering if any suppliers that might read this have ever considered expanding their business with an importing/wholesaling branch. IOW, acting as a US middleman to get shipments into the US for small scale retailers in return for a commission?

Chris

P.S. It seems to me that there was cash to be made in the rumrunning business during prohibition, and these products aren't even illegal. Check your "Chicago Typewriters" at the door. :^)

I don't know what the package weights. It's usually I order enough that the $20.00 shipping is worth the trouble. You can buy quite a lot of stuff to be shipped at that cost. I order two new chargers this time, they weight the most, unless you get e-liquid.

Would have got it today but was not home when the mail came by, usually it takes 7 days. was not expecting it untill thursday.
