Day two for me.

Yesterday I had about 7 analogs. Felt a little wierd, and by evening I was so sleepy, like unusually sleepy, I went to bed around 9:45. I think I put too much pressure on myself yesterday. Today I have replaced only two cigs with the PV so far. I'm going to ease into it, otherwise I'll panic and smoke a whole pack before midnight!

Ultimate goal is to only smoke e-cigs. I have absolutley NO desire to stop the "act" of smoking! I enjoy it too much.

Doesn't this poll measure how ecig users are currently using ecigs as opposed to measuring quitting success rate?

I don't think it would be possible to have a realistic quitting poll on an ecig forum given that the people who fail would have very little motivation (outside of social) to even participate in the forum.

Just a thought.
this and a few other posts in the thread about how the poll may not be a good reflection of any real numbers...

actually with the few sites I run, and the many forums I belong to, I've found that people with negative experiences tent to post more / be more vocal / vote on polls etc.

though this may not be a scientific poll, and it may be missing an option or two, my guess is that it's more or less in the ball field for people who have tried vaping...

remember, vaping is not exactly as huge and widespread as we may think. most people who see me vape have never seen or heard of the things. it's a probably a safe assumption that most people who have tried it have done their research and a good chance that they have read this forum as well.

not exactly scientific, but look at some of the sigs here with the smoke-0-meters, some high, some low. some members here for ages, some just joined.

cheers

I no longer cough or wheeze and can lay on my back and breath again. Oh, and I can go up and down stairs now without huffing and puffing. I would go to bed and listen to myself "wheeze" and that really bothered me. I knew I was in bad shape and would one day be like my mother, draging around my oxygen and I didn't want that. I used the prescription , chantix to quit and it worked. I did quit but was miserable for 9 months until I started smoking again. I am so glad to have found these "Personal Pleasure Vaporizer's". I am getting off nic using this and I love it. I just got my order of flavors from Bickford and sure hope they are good. 40+ years of smoking and I sure don't want to go back to it.
It's been 3 months for both my husband and myself

I totally quit analog cigarettes the day i started vaping... Tried a drag off an analog to see if i noticed a difference and when i took that 1 drag it made me gag and cough really bad i'll never go back to analogs again.... I wish i knew about vaping sooner then i did. Vaping is the best thing i've done not 1 regret. :) Vape ur worries away!!

I got my first ecig on June 24th and I've only had 2 analogs since ( my battery went dead on my ecig at work ).

I don't crave analogs any more so I guess the ecig is here to stay. Sometimes I do find them to be a little more work than analogs and I can't seem to quit buying.

Other than that, I'm looking for the day I can put them all in a drawer and say I'm done with smoking and vaping.

Well, whatt're you waiting around for?
Get over to an office depot, buy some card stock, and print out little cards to pass out about these devices.

I do it, and the cards have this forum's url printed on the backs.

It's so much easier to hand out cards instead of trying to explain the devices over and over.

Played my first show Saturday without smoking an analog. Before I would have several on the way to the show, then several with a beer or three while waiting to go on, then one right before we go on was mandatory, then a few puffs on stage if we were playing a place that allowed it inside the venue. After the show I would set down my bass and light up before anything else was done or even talked about. Now I don't feel the need at all. I didn't miss it even a little bit. It was a non smoking venue and I sat inside and used my VP and even had some interesting conversations with people who had never seen one before. After smoking 2 packs a day for 20 years I am free. It takes some willpower at first but after less than a month I will never go back to analogs.

I've completely replaced analogs with vaping when I'm not out at a bar. When I drink, I'll smoke the occasional analog, but only because I don't feel like explaining what my PV is to people.

I don't have the urge to smoke an analog, and I don't even like it that much. When I'm around only friends and people I know, an analog doesn't touch my mouth, even with all of my friends smoking them.

I have written a couple of posts but i never get a response....Whatever!!!!
I can truthfully say that i don't know anyone who smokes anymore!!!
ALL of the people i know have gone to "vaping"!!
None of them smoke anymore. But wait....the E-cig (i hate reffering to it as such)does/can not help you to quit smoking....Yeah!!!Right!!!
15 weeks free and clean from analogs!!!Put them down...and will never pick one up again!!!

I had quit for about 6 years when 9/11 hit and I started again. I have been trying to quit again now for almost 8 years.

After I returned the Blu and got the 510, I still smoked 4-6 cigarettes a day. In the last few days I have been doctoring the nic level in my liquid and found that about 20-21 mg is right for me. Today I got my pass-thru and immediately quit smoking. The pass-thru is a lifesaver for computer or watching tv, etc. I even plan to use it in the car. I will use the regular batts only when I am out and about.

So YAY, I quit today.

In the first week to week and a half, I smoked 1 to 3 a day tho' most days it was 1-2 cigarettes a day until I realized that if I went to a stronger nicotine mg liquid I could get over the nic-fit humps long enough to forgo the analogs. It worked. Even now, a little over 2 months later, I still have heavy cravings so I bump my nicotine up a bit until it passes and I'm okay again.

My doctor is ecstatic. I've had two appts with him since I began using the e-cig. He honestly though I stopped smoking. When I showed him the in's and out's of the e-cig in comparison to his evaluation of my lack of wheezes and crackles of my lungs he was a believer and wished everyone of his smoking patients would change over to the e-cig.

I've thought about asking him if they can schedule one of my appts on their busiest day then let me vape an e-cig in the waiting room so others can ask about them. That would spread the word and keep him out of the loop as a doctor but the thoughts of vaping in my doc's office just doesn't feel right for some reason, at least not in the waiting room. I did vape once in the examination room. I didn't have time to change to a fresh cartridge before getting to the appt so I swapped one out while waiting on him and took a few hits before he came in the room. All he noticed was the fruit odor of the cherry-flavoring; he thought I'd changed my perfume or was wearing lip balm. Nope, it was the e-cig.

As of this past friday (yesterday) I went to my second appt with him post no analogs and my lungs are still clear without crackles or wheezing or any of the crap I had over the last 28-some odd years. I tend to smoke more when I'm stressed out or ...... off. On a good day before e-cigs, I'd go through about a pack to a little over but on an extremely emotional, stressed out, or downright ...... off day I could go through 2 to 3 packs easily. Analog cigarettes calmed me down and helped prevent me from smacking someone. (usually my husband)...

The only problem I've found with e-cigs vs analogs is the hunger suppressent. There is something in analogs that suppresses the need to eat whereas the e-cigs don't. I wish and I even hope that the e-liquid companies can find out what it is that controls eating habits and blend that back into the e-liquids. I feel as if I stay hungry all the time and I've caved often from it and I am eating more now than I was before or I was before I come down with the flu. I had my flu vaccine on Friday and today I feel as if I have the flu so I must have been exposed to it at some time in the last few weeks or so prior to the vaccine since the flu vaccine doesn't cause the flu. It's a dead virus, not a live one. I can't take a live virus vaccine such as smallpox for example. I can take the pneumonia, tetanus, and flu vaccine. Doc is checking to see if I can take the Swine Flu vaccine and to find out if my husband can as well. If he can and I can't he will have to stay at his mom's house for the x number of days until the contagion is gone before coming back around me. It was the same way when his uncle had to have the smallpox vaccine in the time after 9/11 and the anthrax scare. He wasn't allowed around me for something like 3 months.

There are tons of motivating stories here. Could I ask a favor of the people that posted in this thread? The California Governor is kind of a pushover when he starts getting lots of personal stories.

Just kind of forget to tell him you aren't in California if you aren't....and let him know so he can veto this assembly bill headed our way. If he reads story after story about people giving up tobacco for a nicotine dose they can gradually reduce to nothing by puffing on funhouse smoke...

Could happen. If his angular wife isn't paying attention.

I have stopped analogs altogether in the first 10 days of vaping.

What i have noticed, with other friends who i have converted to vaping is that all those friends who started with a small 510 starter kit with the small stick batteries, have been unable to quit analogs altogether.

All the people I know, including myself who vape on 5~6 volts have entirely stopped analogs.

If you vape seriously with serious equipment (prodigy, chuck, T1, prodigy pass through) ..There is no way on earth you will touch another analog.

I promiss !!! and am deeply convinced of what i say here.

I Smoked 2 1/2 packs of Misty's a day haven't smoked not 1 cig from the day I took my first vape.. I have gone from the SE e-cigs to the 5Vs and I am very satisfied.. I was out and my batteries went dead one day :( I didn't have any with me... I almost started to panic.. then I just said to myself ... "hey you dont smoke anymore" I was fine for 4 hours before I got to change them out.. after the initial panic.." I think I substituted the Mistys with vaping" but now I know I CAN do without... I loved smoking cigs and now I love vaping.. and its much better for my health.. I should also add my chest X Rays came back perfect... this month, as were my last chest X Rays in Oct 08 I had my DR say about 6 times "stop smoking" Gee... it was like he would end every sentence with "stop smoking" I am so happy and proud of myself and everyone that now vapes and doesn't smoke analogs...... for many reasons!
