In the first week to week and a half, I smoked 1 to 3 a day tho' most days it was 1-2 cigarettes a day until I realized that if I went to a stronger nicotine mg liquid I could get over the nic-fit humps long enough to forgo the analogs. It worked. Even now, a little over 2 months later, I still have heavy cravings so I bump my nicotine up a bit until it passes and I'm okay again.
My doctor is ecstatic. I've had two appts with him since I began using the e-cig. He honestly though I stopped smoking. When I showed him the in's and out's of the e-cig in comparison to his evaluation of my lack of wheezes and crackles of my lungs he was a believer and wished everyone of his smoking patients would change over to the e-cig.
I've thought about asking him if they can schedule one of my appts on their busiest day then let me vape an e-cig in the waiting room so others can ask about them. That would spread the word and keep him out of the loop as a doctor but the thoughts of vaping in my doc's office just doesn't feel right for some reason, at least not in the waiting room. I did vape once in the examination room. I didn't have time to change to a fresh cartridge before getting to the appt so I swapped one out while waiting on him and took a few hits before he came in the room. All he noticed was the fruit odor of the cherry-flavoring; he thought I'd changed my perfume or was wearing lip balm. Nope, it was the e-cig.
As of this past friday (yesterday) I went to my second appt with him post no analogs and my lungs are still clear without crackles or wheezing or any of the crap I had over the last 28-some odd years. I tend to smoke more when I'm stressed out or ...... off. On a good day before e-cigs, I'd go through about a pack to a little over but on an extremely emotional, stressed out, or downright ...... off day I could go through 2 to 3 packs easily. Analog cigarettes calmed me down and helped prevent me from smacking someone. (usually my husband)...
The only problem I've found with e-cigs vs analogs is the hunger suppressent. There is something in analogs that suppresses the need to eat whereas the e-cigs don't. I wish and I even hope that the e-liquid companies can find out what it is that controls eating habits and blend that back into the e-liquids. I feel as if I stay hungry all the time and I've caved often from it and I am eating more now than I was before or I was before I come down with the flu. I had my flu vaccine on Friday and today I feel as if I have the flu so I must have been exposed to it at some time in the last few weeks or so prior to the vaccine since the flu vaccine doesn't cause the flu. It's a dead virus, not a live one. I can't take a live virus vaccine such as smallpox for example. I can take the pneumonia, tetanus, and flu vaccine. Doc is checking to see if I can take the Swine Flu vaccine and to find out if my husband can as well. If he can and I can't he will have to stay at his mom's house for the x number of days until the contagion is gone before coming back around me. It was the same way when his uncle had to have the smallpox vaccine in the time after 9/11 and the anthrax scare. He wasn't allowed around me for something like 3 months.
