E-Cigarette complication.

I purchased a BLU Menthol Electronic Cigarette and used it for only one evening. The next day on the right corner of my mouth was a sore and it was burning. During the following week it became red and inflamed with small postules and spread around the corner of my mouth. That was last Friday. It still is very sore and hasn't resolved. I have tried neosporin which only helps with the soreness but nothing else. I'm hoping this is only temporary and will resolve soon. It's very ugly and unappealing resembling a series of small cold sores.

Any time you get pain, swelling, or oral sores or blisters on lips or mouth, esp. if you were ever a smoker, requires SEEING A DOCTOR for diagnosis of what it is. Allex-smokers should be wary of any kind of mouth, lip or tongue anomalies.

It could be a cold sore, fever blister, oral herpes virus, allergy to something in the ecig, or just environmental or even stress from getting off nicotine--- BTW, many people have viruses but lies dormant and can just appear years and years later, cuz grandma had a herpes type 1 virus on her mouth when she kissed you 10 years ago, etc.

Nobody here can diagnose mouth blisters on the internet.

Even if somebody here has had "something" that sounds like what you have---- that is not a diagnosis, yours needs to be tested/diagnosed by a doctor. They know what all the different stuff looks like, and if they don't, there are tests that can tell them.

Have you quit smoking?
Often there are lots of skin/sore type side effects to quitting cigarettes...
It COULD be an allergy to PG or some flavor in the juice - but you're kind of stuck with a Blu - or can you refill the cartridges with some other juice?

I was a Blu user for years and all their products are 100% VG. But the 100% VG made me cough.....Could be some nicotine leaked out which can irritate skin if left on there, from what I understand.

Sorry you're having problems Gloria- sounds painful!

Maybe some of this info can help
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...hen-quitting-tobacco-changing-ecigarette.html

1. Mouth Ulcers
The Quit Ulcers are a common symptom of tobacco withdrawal, affecting many quitters. The ulcers can be very painful, but there are effective topical treatment gels. It has been suggested that high-dose vitamin therapy may also be effective.

The ulcers or gum inflammation may start a week or more after tobacco cessation. They generally clear up after a few days or weeks.

It may be possible that nicotine being absorbed through the mouth can also exacerbate this, as folks using nicotine gum have experienced these mouth sores although it would need to be shown that those using nic skin patches did not suffer so commonly.

It may be that after ecig use, at first, drinking something to rinse the mouth out may help. This will get the nic (or perhaps flavorings or other materials) out of your mouth and not give it a chance to sit there and irritate your mouth tissues and make any sore worse, if this is in fact an issue.

Admin note
Note that PG is a bactericide and virucide, and used medically for that purpose, so that it is more likely to improve this type of symptom than worsen it. It is unlikely that ecig vapor from an e-liquid with PG in will affect the Quit Ulcers in any way except beneficially.

However: Cinnamon flavoring in an ecig refill is known to cause or exacerbate this problem in some people.
