Hey XBB, I was thinking about the NoSmokingForum (NSF) and while I can't speak for others...

I would definitely find it hard to locate posts over there asking for help or advice regarding electronic cigarettes.
I'm wondering if this idea posed by someone from NSF would be a good idea for that forum?

This is in line with what Boudee was also thinking...

So anyway, I'm thinking it would be a good idea.

Just my two cents, posted here because that thread is now closed.
Besides, I'd rather leave it to you whether or not you wanted to pursue that idea.
:)

I personally think it would be a good idea. I have already discussed it with Boudee some time back. Randy has also mentioned something to the same effect. I would suggest to you, as I also suggested to Randy that you PM Boudee and ask her. After all she makes the final decisions and she knows you guys there now.

Maybe let the dust settle a bit with you folks being there and pm her. She's a very reasonable Lady, as I'm sure you've already noticed.

I want to thank you again for "sponsoring" us there, the response has been overwhelmingly positive. Though ECF is a great resource for discussing all things E-cig, it's important to have additional venues that can more easily reach those who are interested specifically in a way to rid themselves of smoking.

Unfortunately, much of the exposure on the web for e-cigs is through more "shady" companies who only offer expensive, inferior products and "scam" subscription plans. The more we can reach with good information, the more who will have a chance to finally find a way to quit smoking when all else has failed them!

I'm glad you folks are comfortable there and I agree the responses have been great, better, I might add than I'd even hoped, as there are still too many people too vocal about dismissing e-cigs without any real knowledge whatsoever. That's why I thought you guys would be a great fit with us and I'm pleased to see it working out.
We're still in the early stages and I think there's even one or two on our site that are not totally in favor of e-cigs as yet, but with Boudee's posts I think it gives them thought.

You're right..way too much shadiness and rip offs going on, as most new quitters have NO idea what's going on, what's a good product, what's a good price, etc. That's where you guys are going to play an important role in steering these people to get the right product for them.

It's only been a couple of days now and the dust is settling. I'm not seeing any major problems with members coming up in arms against you, oh yeah, maybe one, but we're working on him..lol. So let things settle a bit, I wouldn't be surprised at all if I saw a newbie post a thread asking your advice. In any case we do have to find a place for you where like minded people can go for info they might need. I think either a sub forum, or a sticky. As I already suggested to you Randy, pick your timing and pm Boudee. I think she's been more than receptive to all you guys and I don't anticipate any problems.

However, always feel free to ask me something here if you're not sure, as I do cruise around when I can and I'll be happy to answer anything I can.

Well, considering he only joined a whopping 2 days ago, he's hardly an "established member" who's space we are "invading." Not too concerned about him. Although there was one other member (Jase) who seems kind of wary and just seems to need to get the concept of harm reduction vs. nicotine cessation. Maybe once he sees the long-term success of some of us, who continue to use a little nicotine but manage to still keep from smoking and have had no adverse effects he'll come around. He's definitely not what I'd call hostile or anything, though. :)

Ya, I agree "Carp Eyes" (that's my new name for him) is hardly an established member, but we also know he's not too bright either. lol. BTW/ Kristin, I saw him welcome you..Damn I nearly crapped myself when I first saw it thinking ok, here we go, but here he was playing nice..HuH? lol, lol. We m=need smilies here.

Anyway, yup you're right about Jase, he needs to be a little more open minded, he's a real nice guy though. Another one is NicFirth..and that's really about it. However with Boudee on your side and the posts I've seen her write to you they'll come around, or at least won't give you any problems.

I absolutely agree. This site gives us a golden opportunity to correct the misinformation heaped upon the PV in a calm, respectful and common sense way.
These folks really do get the BIG picture and I am sure they will save even more lives by exposing their people to Electronic Vapor. Well done XBB.
