Last Tuesday, April 5th, Springfield, Mo. narrowly passed a city smoking ban which included E Cigarettes. Why do they include e cigarettes in these no smoking bans? I havent smoked tobacco since Jan. 23rd thanks to e cigs and also quit chewing tobacco on the same day. I voted against the ban so I did my part but it still passed. I voted no mainly because it is a law that takes away freedom. The American Cancer Society and the Heart Association were the main funders of the group that had the ban put on the ballot. They also provided large billboards. Sad to see that donations to these organizations are being used to aid in communism instead of disease research.

If it was me i would vape anyway...., its just ridiculous, how about banning alcohol, i hate driving around with drunks on the road. Its really unfair, we are not hurting anyone by vaping, its just the stigma.. i find most people are supportive even in a small town, this is all about money. I do wish they would just leave us alone. We deserve not to be taxed and discriminated against.
Hard to enforce something they cannot catch ya doing unless your blowing out clouds of vapor. I intentionally sit in the bathroom at the throne and when people come in I puff away. Not a single person is the wiser. I sit at my desk and puff away blowing my vapor under the cube. Not a single person is the wiser. I walk around the grocery store and stealth vape and have yet to had a person even do a double take.

The ban on ecigs in Springfield, Mo can be challenged. The ban states, "Activating an e-cig or electronic device used to heat tobacco or other plant substances".... one need only use an ecig with just PG, and flavoring that is not plant based. I'm considering using just PG, with a mint in my mouth (menthol flavor for me). As long as no plant substance is used......then you are in compliance with the letter of the law! This will show the stupidity of the ban, as it would have to be proven in Court (burden of proof is on the prosecution), that a plant substance was being used in the ecig! Would be very costly to the city to have to have an analysis done on the actual cart being used, for each and every person charged with vaping. Might be worth it to have a mass "vap-in", using just PG, and non-plant (chemical only) flavoring!

Firstly drinking and driving is illegl. Secondly drinking in public is also illegal in most places.
