First off, I chose e-cigs.co.uk as my supplier as they seemed to have a good reputation on here, are active on the forum and have recommended models of e.cigs at reasonable prices.

I ordered a Mini starter kit (eco pack) a Classic starter kit (eco pack) a spare atomiser for each, 25 plain high strength mini carts and 25 high strength menthol classic carts. That lot came to just under £100 with shipping. (they could have given me some freebies on a £100 order :D)

Everything turned up exactly when I expected it to, and was well packaged (even though I opted for the eco packing to save me £8 on my order) The spare atomisers came screwed onto the spare batteries, so I had 4 complete cigs and 2 chargers straight out of the box.

Overall a :thumb: to e-cigs.co.uk. I will be back for more!

Classic (RN4072) was recommended by a few members on here.

It makes a great "house" cigarette. I certainly wouldn't take this one to work or in the car as I think I just look stupid trying to hold a heavy, 3 metre long, white plastic cigarette :D

The classic performs great. Plenty of smoke! If you give it a couple of pre-puffs to warm up the atomiser then it creates enough smoke to replace the fog machine in a nightclub :D

Cartridge life is great. I was a 20 a day smoker, and I've been switching between the 2 classics all day since I put new carts in them this morning and both carts still look wet 16 hours later :thumb:

Mini (DSE901) again a recommended e.cig on here.

Now this medium sized e.cig is perfectly balanced and easy to hold and use. I was quite happy to use it out doors with my colleagues on their cigarette breaks and found it very easy to hold while driving.

Performance I have found to be average. Better than my cheapo Health-E-cigs, but quite far behind my classic reviewed above. I can't imagine that I have been unlucky enough to get 2 duff atomisers. It is certainly working, but I don't think it matches up to the rave reviews it gets on here, especially compared with the classic (which is expected to perform better of course) Like I say above, I like the weighting and style of it, so I will keep on trying with this one, maybe it will improve after some heavier use, the classic is certainly running better now than when it arrived.

Cartridge life is good to average. Still on the first cart, but it is looking dryer than the classics which I have given heavier use. Still undecided on this e-cig overall.

The standard flavour carts are weak tasting (intentional?) but are perfectly acceptable, smooth, nothing bad to say about them really, except I would just by all menthol next time

The menthol again are quite a weak tasting flavour, nothing wrong with them, the minty flavour is just a hint that makes them a little more refreshing, infact I would probably be quite happy e.smoking the menthol ones long term :thumb:

So there you have it, my first review.

I hope to update with a long term review in the future.

Hope you found this useful

Thanks

good review Luke, glad you're enjoying it. Good selection of startup devices and spares. Flavour improves if you're exclusively e-smoking. Doesn't really compare that well if you have the occasional hot ....

Did you let Simon know you're a forum member? That's good for 10 free carts with every starter pack if you give your forum ID.

Hope it works out for you.

A little update on these :-

I am loving the Classic. I switch between 2 throughout the day and then charge the batteries at night (I might buy another starter pack so I have another charger and some spares though)

Battery life is great. Neither of the 2 I am using even start to run low after a full days use between them.

Cartridge life is also great. Both cartridges are still usable after a days use (I was a 20 a day cig smoker) but I am changing the cartridges at the end of the day ready for the next day. Cigs in the UK are £5.50 for 20 of a decent brand. I paid £15 for 25 cartridges, so thats £1.20 per day now instead of £5.50 ... meaning that a classic starter kit and spare atomiser pays for itself in only 8 days! Superb.... no need to worry about reliability then. If I get a couple of months out of the kit I will be happy enough (though of course we would all like more!)

I handed the mini's over to my girlfriend as she seems to think they are ok. I checked them out again after they have had abit more use. They have like the classic improved a touch and seem to be producing better smoke now. They are still no where near the level of the classic, but not bad really. I think the cartridges are the worst thing on the mini. The plain flavour is just too weak so it doesn't feel like you are getting much vapour. I think they will work better with some menthol carts (which I will get on my next order to give it another chance) Cartridge life seems alot less on these as well. I would guess I'd go through 4 carts a day on this if used fulltime.

So another day goes by with me not smoking any real cigs ..... yey :)

Update :

I'm on my 8th day of not smoking cigarettes thanks to these little beauties.

My classics are still working great, loads of smoke, good battery life, good cartridge life.

The only thing I have experienced so far is that one of the classic atomisers decided to do a self-clean when I was not looking. I just caught the end of it when I saw the LED flash the last couple of times. I picked it up, had a puff on it and bleerrrgh it tasted nasty. I rinsed the atomiser out in water, dried it, popped a new cartridge in and puffed away and it was back to normal again.

OK today my other atomiser started doing a self clean, but this time I spotted it.... I pulled out the cartridge and blew down into the atomiser while it was cooking away .... when it finished, I put the cart back in and no nasty taste....so there you go :)

SUCCESS !!! I have yet to be successful at not getting the nasty burn plastic taste ... and it always seems to linger for a couple hours too ... even with my most potent eliquid ... no match for the self cleaning crap...haha:D

It would seem that all the cleaning process is doing is whacking the heater on full for 20-30 seconds to burn off any gunge down in the bottom of the atomizer (probably to stop the buildup of germs I guess)

Burning gunged up e-liquid in an enclosed space is going to create some nasty smoke that is going to stick to the inside of the atomizer (and cartridge) so by taking out the cartridge and giving the atomizer lots of air (blowing on it continuously, I guess that most of the smoke is being removed from the atomizer before it settles on the surfaces.

I'll try using a can of compressed air next time as I usually have one on my desk.

Very Nice post. Thanks.

I never new about this cleaning cycle.
I'll have to watch for the Auto-clean.

I JUST purchased my First E-cig set. WOO HOO :)
(after reading more pages and posts then i ever wanted to, thanks to you people)

I am not sure if its a RN4072 or DSE801, but by the sound of it,
It should work well for me.

One question, is it better to top off the Carts with E-liquid, how often, or dont they need it?
I am not sure if they "Evaporate" rapidly.
from lukewells - "Both cartridges are still usable after a days use "
I may need to get a dropper bottle of e-fluid next.

Hi Magus, good luck with your first ecig and welcome to the club.

You will find that vapour will diminish as your cartridge gets dryer. About a third of the eliquid stays in the filler and will not vaporise for you. When you get little vapour and you are sure it's not your battery at fault you need to change the cartridge or top it off with eliquid. Some people get eliquid by squeezing out cartridges, the old used ones still hold plenty of liquid. You can also buy bottles of eliquid. The easiest way to squeeze cartridges is to pull out the filler with tweezers and put it into a syringe. Press down the plunger to extract the juice from the fillers.

hi all ,
just thought id put my pennies worth in . I've been a smoker for 17 years now and decided to give up the fags 5 days ago. all seemed to be going well i was using the 'orible gum stuff blurgh , then found out about e-cigs.
Took the plunge and ordered eco starter pack dse901b from Simon.
Recieved it this morning and ..well ..WOW impressed or what and not only with the product but with Simons great service.
With my order i wanted the USB charger ( cause im always at my pc ) but i was sent a mains charger instead, now it didnt bother me too much but i mentioned it to Simon and straight away he's sent me out a usb charger free of charge along with his apologies.
So now because of the great way He's dealt with me, I've made 3 more orders today for atomizers , carts and liquid and he can count me as one of his regular customers from now on . Great guy , cant praise him enough for his customer care.
