I live in tax happy Canada and I was smoking 2 packs a day for over 40 years at $12 ....YES TWELVE DOLLARS per pack I loaded up with starter kits then mods and toys then I started making my own juice so loaded up on all that. Then I bought a treadmill a bicycle and jogging shoes ( you know the things that I couldn't use while smoking) and vaping still is way cheaper for me. Even if it cost more I would still do it.

I only spend $50 a month on smoking. I roll my own, and I've gotten to be pretty expert at making a dollar stretch.

Rolling papers - $2 per pack X 3 per week.
Slim filters - $3.50 per baggie X 2 per month.

And then the real clever bit...

I buy Danish bulk tobacco that is marketed as "pipe tobacco," but it's actually cut a bit thinner so it works for rolling cigarettes too. Why do they do that? Because pipe tobacco taxes are much lower than cigarette tobacco taxes. :)

So I get $8 per 2oz X 2 per month.

Total - $50 per month.

Am I going to save money when I get my own e-cig? Probably not. Or at least, not very much.

But maybe I'll be able to sing again.

I don't mind spending just as much money as I do on smoking. The money doesn't matter that much to me, especially since, for a fairly heavy smoking habit, it's a very small amount of money.

But the real benefit of getting off ciggies is pretty priceless.

I'm 21, and smoking is already destroying my gums. I brush, floss, and rinse 3 times a day, and I'll still start losing my teeth before I'm 30 if I don't stop. I got pneumonia for the first time in my life. I also started getting chronic tonsillitis, with no history of childhood tonsil problems. I wake up coughing. I've lost an octave of my singing range.

Is getting my health back worth $50 a month to me?

Are you kidding?
