I came from a childhood of getting a severe lack of maintenance on my teeth, so they are in rough shape, mainly my molars. And being a young adult (22) I have a not so great job with no coverage, it is hard to get in to the dentist regularly for the work I need on them. I pretty much have eliminated candy, soda, and anything ridiculous. I take care of them great now, flossing, brushing after measure, but it only keeps them from getting worse. Quitting smoking has definitely helped as well, I have noticed a huge improvement, thats for sure. If I had one thing I could change about my physical appearance it would be nice, healthy teeth!

Well, I am 24 and I was adopted so I had free health insurance as a kid, and used the heck out of it. I inherited incredibly bad teeth from my birth mother. No enamel on my teeth. Every time I went to the dentist I would have 6-8 cavities... ugh. No matter what I did I always got cavities.

Now I am in the process of getting all my teeth pulled for dentures or implants.

So all I know is the improvement of my gums.

Oh man, I dread going to the dentist and I go for cleanings every 3 months. I've spent tens of thousands on my teeth in the past 7 years and I'm pretty sure things have gotten worse since I switched to vaping 3 plus years ago. I've finally said no to any more root canals and am waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I'm not a dentist, or dental hygenist, but my thoughts are these: You say you hadn't had your teeth cleaned for a couple of years. You have been vaping for about 8 months. I would think that the tartar build up she's talking about was already there before you even started vaping. It probably was not caused by the vaping, just normal build up that occurs when you haven't had your teeth cleaned for a while.

Now that you're not smoking, and your teeth are clean, you will have a starting point for a valid opinion when you get them cleaned again. P.S. I don't like to go to the dentist either, but try not to wait quite so long this time.:) (Do as I say, not as I do, lol.)

I was thinking the same thing. Actually, when smoking the dentist said that I have minimal tarter. I think that is just that I brush a lot. At my next cleaning I will ask about yellowing, tarter, and gums. Probably every time. Just to see if their is a difference between analogs and vaping.

    I will let yous know.

It might just be genetics and nothing to do with vaping or smoking.

I was blessed with my dad's genetics as far as teeth go. If I'd had my mother's? I would be wearing dentures right now. I've never had a cavity and I smoked for 35+ years. I'm 53 and only have a bridge in the front because I was hit in the mouth with a softball when I was in my 20's. Otherwise I have all my teeth *disclaimer* (wisdom teeth were removed because my mouth was too small for them to come in)
