I keep seeing statements to this effect in the posts on this board.
E juice with out nic. I Can agree to that fact.
E juice with nic I believe it is a tobacco product,
At least the Nic comes tobacco

I believe we as vapors that still are using E juice with nic. Should admit we are still using a tobacco product. All though less harm full then a Cig.

:D Rant over

It may be that you are correct, however we don't want the stigma attached to us that is with the combustible form, which is what most people first think of when you say tobacco product. I think liquid nicotine product is a more accurate description.
They could conceivably get nic from other plants(maybe not cost effective) would we then call it a tomato product?

Think of it this way. Would we call Pepsi a coffee product ?

Liquid Caffeine

Would be like getting this, putting a drop in sparking water and calling it a "coffee" product

POWAH WADDAH! That's what I'm gonna call it :D

It really doesn't matter what we call it or what we want to call it, the FDA is going to call it a tobacco product.

The Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act (FSPTCA) is what gives the FDA authority to regulate tobacco products.
And this is the definition that the FSPTCA uses for determining what is a tobacco product...

The FSPTCA defines the term “tobacco product,” in part, as any product “made or derived from tobacco” that is not a “drug,” “device,” or combination product.

Nicotine and flavor are added to the base mix of PG/VG. So in my opinion, not a tobacco product.

Are the gums, patches and inhalers, tobacco products?

One of the habits, us vapors need to break, is the association of smoking to vaping. The general public thinks we are vaping flavored nicotine. They don't think there is anything else in the mix. The proposed ban on new shops in Seal Beach, CA. uses the words "flavored nicotine". Flavored nicotine will kill you.

Get out of the habit of calling it smoking. Don't refer to nicotine as a tobacco product. Nicotine makes up less than 3% in dry weight of the tobacco leaf.

Nicotine is also found in lesser amounts in tomatos, potatos, eggplant (aubergine), and green peppers. So just tell people that the nicotine in your vape juice was derived from potatoes.

I never refer to my vaping as smoking, or anything else to do with tobacco. I even correct persons who do.

From an article from Huffington Post: Pureed tomatoes were much higher. A previous study found 52 ng/gram of nicotine. Eating 19.2 grams equals the effects of passive smoking. Let ban e-juic I'll start vaping tomato juice:) J/K

Do you have a Link to this Statistic? I'd like to read the Article.

"...
According to a previous study detailed in the 1993 project, 10 grams of eggplant contains 1 µg (microgram) of nicotine -- roughly the same amount one gets from three hours of exposure to second hand smoke. Cigarettes usually contain 1 mg (milligram) of nicotine, which means that a person would have to eat 10 kilograms, or 22.05 pounds, to reach that amount.
..."

So that means I Only need to Eat 441 Pounds of Eggplant per day to equal my PAD Analog intake.

LOL

If it were financially feasible to extract nicotine from sources other than tobacco leaf, it would be being done as we speak. People complain about $38/30ml bottles of e-nic. What would they say about $1200 bottles?

My point being it is a chemical compound not found in just tobacco plants. It just happens to be the easiest source material. If we can move people away from associating it with "combustable products" I think we should. All cars use fuel, some use cleaner fuel than others.

It doesn't matter if nicotine is found elsewhere. The nicotine used in e-liquid is a product of extraction from tobacco. There's no disputing it.
