It looks to me like V2 is going beyond the average liquid maker in truthfully disclosing the composition of the flavoring and solvents they use. It's a funny list, apparently disclosing as much as they know, but revealing a lack of chemistry expertise, like for instance "peach aldehyde", which doesn't exist as such, and spelling errors that no chemist would make. This suggests they are working from lists supplied to them from foreign sources. Frankly, if vapers had any idea of the chemicals that go into the flavoring, they would most certainly choose to keep flavoring to a minimum. But this stuff doesn't look different from typical liquids, and V2 is to be commended for aiming to disclose everything they know. Personally I prefer liquids that don't use propylene glycol (just glycerin) and keep flavorings total well under 10%, more like 5-6%. As you can see V2's typically use around 25%, but that is "par for the course". If it doesn't feel harsh, I wouldn't freak out.

As a V2 past customer, I was honestly not aware they posted this info .. but they are to be commended for doing so .. although initially I thought this thread was an attempt at some inflamatory info, now having examined the list, although still maybe a little bit alarming, it certainly is not as bad as it sounds at face value .. surprised V2 does not worry about competitors ripping off the info ..

I agree with Myk and Fernand. I wouldn't worry about it. In fact, some alkylpyrazines (2,5-DMP is an alkylpyrazine) are formed naturally as a result of cooking. The technical name just sounds scary because we aren't chemists.

My husband always laughs at that saying, "if I can't pronounce it, I shouldn't eat eat.". He says, "Does that mean I can eat more than most people"? He's a chemist.

This is one of the most enlightening threads I've seen around here. in "philosophical" terms, if you wish.

Given how righteous we sometimes are about the "dumb public" and the "ignorant media" and how they don't understand vaping and get scared out of their wits by misrepresentations of scientific facts by the FDA.

In any event, try asking for a similar list about Boba's Bounty for instance.

Call me crazy but this is what I have been vaping!

e-liquid ingredients: Tad Alon E, Aloe Vera powder, 2, 5-DimtheylpIpyrazine, Alpha-Ionone, Linalool, Vanilla extract, Ethyi Maltol, Propylene Glycol

Sounds scary to me,,,what should I stay away from on this list?

Your relies are most appreciated, Thank You :confused

Tad Alon E- I am not familiar with this chemical. It must be a usage name or a trademark of some sort.

Aloe Vera powder- weird, but probably just added for consistency of the liquid. I doubt that it would vaporize or go very far..

2, 5-DimtheylpIpyrazine does not exist. Could it be 2, 5-Dimethylpyrazine? It is a flavoring that gives a nutty feel or a cocoa taste (depending on the ratio of isomers).

Alpha-Ionone, Linalol, and Vanilla extract are often used in flavoring with a sweet base.

Ethyl Maltol will tend to give a sugary taste to the juice

Propylene Glycol is the base of the juice.

I see nothing alarming in this list. I am actually pleased to see that a supplier is making the effort to disclose the list of ingredients.

If you like the taste of the combination of flavoring, you should be fine (when other suppliers put a list of their ingredients, I am pretty sure that it will look very similar unless it is a very straight forward type (i.e. Not a mixture of tastes)

If you would like to make the juice less "runny", you can add some USP grade vegetable glyceryn (also called vegetable glycerin or glycerol). You will loose some of the taste though.

In regards to juice recommendations,

Johnson's Creek keeps their ingredients FDA standardized and are also my favorite tobacco flavor vendor.

I can respect vendors putting a full list of ingredients though. None of us really know what we're vaping.
Greysky
JC is my favorite also.
They also publish monthly lab test results if I recall. Their Red Oak line of 100% vg is thinned enough for cartos. Wicks good too.

I am so glad I am seeing this here because it brings up a question for me. I am using almost entirely Johnson's Creek juices but the other day I purchased a large bottle of their magnificent menthol, which is a particular favorite of mine. It was cloudy, but I know sometimes it can be, so I loaded my carts with it. The first taste was really off, kind of sour and acidic tasting. The more I tasted the worse it seemed to be until I gave it up and decided to vape on the orange flavored one.

The thing is my mouth, tongue and throat became very irritated and raw. Felt like it had been scalded. I contacted them and of course they said they would immediately exchange it, just as is their practice, but a day later I tried it again, just a little and it tasted ok. A couple of the cartridges tasted good even, so I began to think it was all in my head. I went ahead and vaped on it that afternoon and that night.... same thing. Raw, scalded feeling. I drank some milk in an effort to sooth it and it seemed to help. I wonder if anybody knows what is going on with me. I am new to all of this and feel a little silly. Goodness knows I am no alarmist, but if I am having some kind of allergy or something with my favorite juice, then obviously I have to find a new favorite.

My husband says maybe I am just vaping too much. I don't like the sound of that. I want to vape as much as I want, which admittedly is a lot. :(

any help is appreciated and forgive my spelling, been up all night. lol

Was it Red Oak (vg) or Original (pg)? Just wondering if it might be the 100% pg that caused the problem.

Maybe the liquid needs to steep? I've received liquid that tasted terrible when it first arrived but after a few weeks of steeping it became amazing

It's best to stay away from liquids imported from china...yes they are cheaper, but many of them contain scary ingredients like the ones you've listed. The fewer ingredients beyond PG or VG the better....Though there are many North American companies that sell chinese eliquid, there are also a tonne of domestic Eliquid suppliers who make their own liquids, and these usually contain the fewest ingredients. Ordering domestically is well worth the additional costs IMO

I love comments like this. Most vendors get their nicotine from China. A vendor in the US might say, made in the US, but what they really mean is mixed in the US. Majority of flavorings come from other countries also. As for China, I have vaped Dekang (oldest eliquid manufacturer) for almost 2 years. I'm still alive to tell about it. I've never had any problems with their eliquid.

You're a CASAA supporter so I'm sure this isn't your goal but you do realize that when you make that false advertising word game claim you are chasing people away from vaping don't you?
Whether you agree or not some of us have problems trusting China. Posting on the internet isn't going to change that.

For those who read that and now have a sense of mistrust of the US vendors email the companies and ask them what their nicotine's country of origin is.

Well Well,,,how bout that! I never expected so many wonderful comments! Thank you all for your thoughts! Very interesting reading. I am almost out of Sahara juice from V2 so I think I will try some of your suggestions about juices.
I have been researching cart options and wonder if you know about the clear fluxomizers...that way you can see the juice and when to refill. I have heard that it is a cleaner way. Does any of you know where to purchase?

Thanks again,
imaqt
