Actually I think she did understand you correctly...
Nicotine is going to cause a couple of things... A slightly pepper taste, though usually not noticeable when mixed with other flavors. Also what's called "Throat Hit" which is really hard to explain... Almost a "burning" in the back of the throat, but not really... When you take a big drag off a cigarette holding it in your mouth, then inhale it all at once into your lungs, that feeling in the back of your throat... that's "throat hit".
PG carries the flavor, but also causes throat hit... An earlier suggestion recommended using more PG, but I don't think that's going to give you what you're looking for...
VG on the other hand, it adds density to the vapor... It makes it thicker basically... Now I realize that isn't directly what you're looking for, but I think it might be. When I vape max VG e-juice I can definitely "feel" it in my lungs... It feels heavier and denser... With very high PG blends I taste it and can get throat hit, but not that "heavy in the lungs" feeling...
So my suggestion is to try to make a juice blend that has a maximum amount of VG... In fact, just as a test, try JUST your flavoring (which is usually PG based) and VG... Don't add any extra PG at all... Try that and see if you get the feeling you're looking for... If so, then you can start playing around with the ratio of PG to VG to get the taste and "lung feel" to your liking.
