Ugh. My joyetech Elitar stopped reading atomizers and I can't find the correctly sized tool to open th thing up and check the wiring. I got the thing on sale for $20 though, can't complain. Anybody know of a decent inexpensive epipe with the same features as the Elitar?
did you try to gently pry the 510 pin up? maybe it just got pushed in too far where it's not making a connection anymore....

View attachment 829261 Nice pipes all! I just ordered this, very excited. I’ve been a wannabe pipe smoker for ever but never could get past the burned up mouth. This should be just the trick.
That's certainly a nice looking pipe --- looking forward to seeing pics when it arrives. Got plans for what atty you'll run on it?

Good question, I was planning to ask you! The only thing I have in hand that is greater than 1 ohm is the top to my Endura T18II so I might start with that. I have a ETNA MTL RDA that I really like but it’s at 0.25 ohm.

I don't know what size atomizer you need. I use a 2ml eGo One tank with 1Ω Joytech CLR coils on my pipe. If I remember right, it's 19mm wide.

As WorksForMe mentioned, the Ego One tanks with 1.0 ohm CLR coils can be a good match (easy to re-wick and to rebuild, 19mm diameter). I've used Berserker and Etna RDAs (18mm diameter), and lately I've been using this Dvarw 16mm RTA (clone from FT):

If you are planning to use the fuse, I'll note that none of mine fired reliably at 1.0 ohm, or even 1.1 ohm -- so I am using the magnet spacers (I had ordered a couple from epipemods when I ordered my pipes, just in case). For batteries, I use the Keeppower 1200mah 18350 cells (from Illumn.com) and the Exocel EXO18350S (from fogstar.co.uk or vapeclub.co.uk):

Y’all want my back story? Tell me if this is TMI. I bought my first pipe and a pouch of SWR tobacco when I was 13 and lived at Schofield Barracks on Oahu HI. Back then it was no problem I could buy anything at the PX, go figure. I have loved pipes dearly since then, but as I said before I never much liked having a burned up mouth and yes I tried everything to cool things down. Had a great calabash. Went on to smoke cigs in high school, dipped in college and always loved an occasional cigar. Tried to make pipes work off and on with no success. Crazy for tobacco in all its forms for a long time but also a runner so always tried to keep it under control. Fortunately I do not have an addictive personality.

So I discovered vaping last month and ePipes after that so as you can imagine I’m pretty darn excited.

My stem should be here today and my pipe has shipped! I am looking forward to cobbling up a system! This will be my first mech mod BTW.
Looking forward to seeing it all come together for you!

It's your first mech, so I'd be remiss if I didn't mention: use good quality batteries, know the amp ratings of your batteries, use appropriate builds/coils for your batteries, know how to use ohm's law to calculate said appropriate builds, don't rush anything, and don't hesitate to ask questions if you need to (perhaps in the general forum, or the mech or rebuildable sub-forums for more eyeballs/answers).

Oh crud looks like the Vapecell batt is now of unknown quality.....
Yeah, unfortunate ... I have some of those new versions as well --- I had already been using them down to 0.85 ohms before @Mooch's post on the new ones and while they hit a bit on the weakish side, I don't think unsafe at that level (they never got warm). To be honest, below a 5 amp draw, I'm not sure they perform much worse (if at all) than the Exo18350S or the Keeppower 1200 (they're all likely the same cell underneath these days, they certainly all look the same at the top and bottom).

If you were going for 1.5 ohm builds (below 3 amps in theory, even less in reality) I'm sure they'll be ok safety-wise, and no current 18350 is going to be a "great" performer.
