Hi Dr. Loi,

First of all, congratulations on your project ! I've been following it avidly from the beginning and it sounds truly promising. If you do ever decide to make that pre-order mailinglist, please do add me to it :thumb: !

I have a question. Not sure if it's a particularly smart one, but hey, seize the day and live dangerously, right  ?

Have you found that poorly performing atomizers that have been 'revitalised' by the E-Turbo, also perform better when used in combination with the original type batteries after the 'revitalisation' ? Or do they only perform well again when used in combination the E-Turbo ?

Best of luck with the device, we await it's arrival with baited breath (but at the same time remaining admirably patient so that you have plenty of time for all the necessary testing and development ;)) !

Cheers,
Silver

Hi Silver...Yes revitalised atomiser will work better with the OE batteries BUT only for a short time...still checking into that and I have come to an early possible conclusion..OE battery also partly to blame and also due to Li-Ion degradation over time.....atomiser tires out easily and the Pneumatic switch plays a crucial role here to "degrade " the battery even more...that's why some atomiser with their OE battery becomes harder to suck as time goes by...Li-Ion tech is not perfect...it ages rapidly and that's what worries me now..as my E-Turbo runs on Li-Ion ...Already had working sample of Ni-Mh Batteries and Ni-Cd Batteries to test on...and also Hydrogen Fuel like those use in survival Torches..Shake it when need power..all under testing now...My Experiments is running wild now...you can say I am power crazy....hehehe....

Sorry unable to update yet till all my "cows":D comes home and also partly I was busy today attending to my own Dad who was sick today...had to bring him to see my Cardiologist friend..He had a mild heart attack...so I hope you all don't mind....I will update later till I fix my dad first.....:(

Think outside the box. Take care of your dad first, but I'm sure your mind will work on ways to make your device better. A device independent of any battery would be optimal. Batteries are a weak link. In our hurricane-prone area, the hot items are all wind-up power, like back when I was a child. Wind up radio. Wind up flashlight. Our physical action creates a plentiful source of temporary energy.

Ever play with those circular things that make sparks after you press a lever that plunges like a syringe? A child's toy. A principle we might could use.

A long time ago, I joked here about a device that a user could snap into action, bending an e-device to blend two chemicals that then provide heat for vaporizing, like those temporary glowing lights that do the same. We'll get there, but we're not close now. Move us forward.

Hope your dad pulls through okay. He's not a smoker, is he?

Hi Doc,
You've got the right idea - we have a very limited time with our parents and should spend as much time as possible with them, especially when they are struggling. Our gizmos and gadgets will be there waiting for us until the timing is right in our lives.

I look forward to this device as much as everyone else, but having already lost a parent, I can tell you it is well worth every minute you spend with them. You and your father will be in my thoughts (my version of prayers).

As for E-turbo housing ideas - I love bling, but function trumps form anyday. I vote for matte black because most electronics come in black making it easier and cheaper, it looks elegantly understated like the Janty, and won't draw much attention from those who are ignorant of e-cigs:evil:. Maybe the second or third retail version could incorporate some bling and dazzle - sparkle, glitter, glamour, or was that tacky, gaudy, cheap? - I just want to see it get to market safely. We can always dress it up. I love to beautify and personalize items myself:thumb::pervy:. I love, love, love the work you are doing.

Please keep us posted on your dad - you are a part of the family here on the forum ya know.;)

Hi Doc

I hope your dad gets over this quickly. My prayers are with you and your family.

I've only just seen this thread but it's good to know you're still working away on new refinements to our beloved gizmo. You're one of our best and brightest and I'm sure this will be a great success. Can't wait to get my hands on one (knew there was a reason for my atomiser graveyard)

Have you given up the e-smoking conference dream? This would be a hell of a headliner and I'm still coming!

All the best

Emp

Hi Dr. Loi,

Thanx ever so much for your detailed response, much appreciated !

So sorry to hear about your Dad's health situation :( and that should most definitely be your number one priority before all else, goes without saying ! I hope he recovers/feels better very soon and will be thinking of him during my 'quiet time'.

And anyway, it's not like all of us are going anywhere anytime soon now, is it ;) ?

Just out of curiosity, have you by any chance tried using revitalised atomizers in combination with brand new OE batteries and did that make any difference at all ?

You are such a wonderful pioneer with the most interesting ideas, I wish you well with all of them, thank you for your excellent contributions to the E-cigarette world and look forward to the outcome when the time comes !

Good luck !
Silver

Thanks to all for all the kind prayers....My dad is now currently treated and survive the first wave and now we wait for clot to dissolve...I'm putting all my concentration on my dad now..so a little setback on the project.....

Nope he is not a smoker but he suffered from COAD due to many years of exposure to Insecticide sprays...we worked in Rubber plantations and Oil Palm ...so the toll has taken place....wish we are not poor those days:oops:..my poor parents has to work very hard to keep all 9 kids alive..big family and huge responsibilities and my dad has 2 jobs..as a school teacher and plantation workers :(...life has been hard on him and he makes us all proud of him...My dad is my saviour ..my salvation..without my parents, I am nowhere....

All the best to you and your dad.
Thanks....

Yes, you are right..family always come first..we need that time...but unfortunately, distance and work stress keep us apart...sometimes we forget ourselves and our family....but I also strive hard to maintain this..not an easy task but a must do nonetheless.....

Thanks emp...the conference idea is still on..but met with a lot of criticism...need to work out the plan properly and looks like it will be delayed now..in a way, it is good also so I get more time to rethink over my plans.....You too and the rest of the forum members also contributes a lot too..I am not the only one ...I am more honored by your presence....

good luck and I will make sure to include your dad in my prayers.
Thanks Kimmie....very touched by all of you..we are practically strangers but yet we treat each others like family.....I appreciate all this greatly....

Hi Doc......sorry to hear about your Dad, i'm sure he will be well again soon.

Thanks doggsie....I hope so too....

You're welcome Silver..hope it helps....yes, we re-used back the OE batteries...a lot of difference but does not last long as the liquid burn rate drops and started to "jam" up the atomiser...resulting in poor performance and tortured battery switch(increasing the wear and tear on the pneumatic switch)..so revitalised atomiser will need a recharge thru the E-Turbo...then it will be back to new status again....I am still testing out and getting more types of atomisers so I can get more data ....hope to find that "holy grail"..I'll let you all know soon....

don't forget, all of you are also pioneers in this adventure...we will be the forefront of e-smokers and we will spread the gospel of a new era....:)

Once again, thanks to all ...for your kindness...God Bless all of you....

You can bet that when he reflects on his life and puts everything in perspective, you, Jim, will be special to him. As you are proud of him, he rightfully should be proud of you. You are a good and decent man, charitable and inventive. The world needs many more such men. I wish him full recovery; and thank him for rearing you in hard conditions. You made it worth it.

Thank TB...My dad is much stable now and can't wait to get home to Sitiawan to his beloved plantations....he's a workaholic:mad:...and stubborn too:mad:....anyway, I am glad he is back on his feet...but still need a lot of care(you can hear my mom grumbling away at the background..hehehehe:))..God, I haven't smile in days....now I felt very relieved....
Thanks for the offer to edit the user manual, I'll email you a copy as soon as I have complete the data collection....

Okay, A bit of update....
So far , all is well and only one developed problem, a user forgets to switch off the device and the atomiser got fried properly...but still functional albeit with a very "caramelly" smell and taste(I am repairing that one now)..good , at least we know what it can do...frying atomisers..sheesh;)....the user was very shy to tell me at first..hahaha....but he told me at last......:p

More than 20 units is out there and all trying their best to "destroy" it....I sold some units to my Njoy users today as they are willing to pay for it...so I have finally get some non-beta tester to use it....random selection there and no selective cases....I have a special offer for my Malaysian users(those who can reach me here and irrespective of brands of e-cigs they use)..If they trade in a Battery(for head connection)they will get a rebate of RM100 off from the retailed price...so it will be fair for them to sacrifice a battery(even damaged/under performing battery is accepted) in return they get a much better performing power supply.....

I will also start getting my own atomisers to work with this new combo....One penstyle type and One mini type..will post pics once they arrived(hopefully by next week)..so a total package with 5ml of e-liquid thrown in as a whole deal......penstyle will have a total stainless steel look..so no paint flaking off as a results of wear and tear of daily usage...any thoughts on this??:)

Stainless steel sounds great. Shiny for the bling, industrial looking for the bada** in me. I can personalize it. Mostly, I just want it. It could be hot pink with polka dots and I would still want it - as long as it works.

Are you close to marketing it yet? I'm getting antsy here. PLEASE?:D

You could easily become my favorite forum member, just send me one. I'll bribe you.;)

Hi Nicowolf:):D.....Glad you like stainless steel...no painting job required and cut down cost too....actually almost pewter like...

The testing stage is in it's final legs..gathered as much data as possible....I have information regarding which atomiser will last long and which won't survive the onslaught of E-Turbo power...DSE 901 and Mini types are the best so far and Janty atomiser really stands out among all the rest(still awaiting David Yang's atomisers)...there are some bad news though...Njoy and Ruyan V8 atomiser does not last long...so far revitalised Njoy penstyles will only last 2 weeks and ruyan slightly longer but not by much..Janty still "living" it up:thumb:...I need full data then I will put up an advisory for users/potential users before purchasing the E-Turbo....I am testing the lower / lesser power for those (atomiser )deem fragile....so please bear with me till everything's done....

I will announce the release for sale once I am ready and I might assign UPS for delivery world wide..they just send their letter of agreement today(haven't gone thru it yet:oops:..very busy with E-Turbo patients and new smokers) ...

Thanks for the Bribe offer nicowolf.....:):D

Having been watching this thread with avid interest since I found it but now a bit concerned - all seems to have gone quiet? Has it been relocated somewhere else in the forum? If so could some kind person point me in the right direction please!

I do hope this does not mean further health problems for Dr Loi's father or anything else untoward. Sending good thoughts in case - can't hurt, can they?

Hi Tetsab...it's very busy here in Malaysia with multiple projects going on...imagine trying to buy the whole world known types of atomisers to test and loads of patient to work on it....too busy to even answer my own email....I will update from time to time....;)

I wouldn't worry, it does go quiet sometimes but always comes back!!

Thanks bro...will try to continue this update as soon as I can....:)
