Food grade silicon? Don't think we can get those here. I cant even get ptb here although I really wish I can try some out..lol.

Are you sure? I'm pretty sure I've seen Pyramid in Jusco up in Ipoh. I don't usually go to grocery stores when I'm down in KL so I don't know where to look there. I'm usually aimlessly walking around near BB plaza, perusing the Cititel, or sharing a drink at the beach club lol :D

Just found out I won my dispute with paypal so I have money in the account....finally.

Now if I can only find a US supplier that for sure has R4's in stock.

How can a product be so good and the manufacturer be sooooo bad?

Can you hear me martinez???

Cloudsofvapor has them.

They have it in Jusco? It must be imported in then. I contacted the distributor here and they say its not available. I had tried to get some in HK but they are made of the same material as normal teabag, only thinner. I give Jusco a try later tho, thankss:vapor::vapor:

Bottomline for these cartos, the tube needs to be of a bigger diameter and it will solve 99% of the problem. I make the syringe mod earlier and I have not got a single complain(so far)..hahahaha

I like nicotime's take on it IF the plastic doesn't leach anything or deform from the heat.

I think nicotimes is pyrex from Duran, find their online catalog and browse the pages, link to catalog :

They sell threaded caps, sealing rings, and lots of good stuff.

Best way to identify R4 cartomizers from older versions seems to be grey-black package (old) vs white-black package?

Another thing is that r4 package contains a little piece of polyfill and I cant find this on my grey-black packages?

And my regular 510 cartomizers come with a brass-end

My last order did not come with polyfill...but I took them apart and they are 100% R4s. Mine were 808s though...so that might be the difference.

I was getting a burnt taste pretty soon after my first cartomizer and it seems to me that the coil burns that wick from the same area where it is wrapped.

I also thought that there were more wicking material than this. And I haven't cut them myself. They were just like in that picture. I just carefully liftem them from bottom. Notice the burnt tip on one those ropes.

What I have is Duran Borosilicate Glass tube...not Pyrex. It is used for high pressure boiler sight glasses and stuff like that. It is expensive and hard to get also...but it really isnt necessary. I would go for some Pyrex or quartz tube somewhere. I just used that because I had it from begging a company for some samples....and no...they didnt want to do it.

Just put in an order for 5 of the shorties. Want to see how they compare to the XL R3's.

Depending on how these do I will try some of the XL R4's

The shorties worked great at R3. Haven't tried them at R4 yet but I still have a ton of R3 shorties I can use if I decide I'm not a fan of the XLs after all. These latest ones from VJ are doing ok though.

It sounds even better than pyrex then. I wouldn't mind paying more for a good lasting carto that is serviceable. I have been saying that for so long. This Duran company really looks good, and the good thing is that they sell all kinds of seals, caps, adaptors, reducers, and lots of things.

Do you think the shorties work as well as the XL's?

The one thing I like about the R3 XL's is I can fill one at night and its good for the whole day at work the next day. I don't have to refill until I get home at 5:00 pm. Even then Its still doing great I just feel its best to not run them dry. I have not had one die yet. Rotating through 6 XLs usually swap out to a clean one every 2 days or so.

Hope the shorties are this good.
